I posted an add on kijiji for a laptop I wanted to sell and it was answerd quite quickly by someone who offered more than I had asked, and wanted me to send it to their daughter in Nigeria. I am not a seasoned veteran, but even I know that this is a scammer.

So, I have baited him along and told him I will send it this weekend, and received an email from 'paypal' telling me that once I send the tracking number the funds will be released.

I was talking with a friend, who suggested this site, and have been running a few ideas through my head. The main one is this:

I have an old, broken laptop, and was thinking about removing all the parts from inside (makes it cheaper to post, and offers zero ability to sell any working parts) and collect some of my dogs waste and include this with the computer, as a nice surprise when it is opened.

I know this would require some money being spent on my behalf, but I have no issue with that, if I get a laugh out of it.

Any suggestions ?

First off, if you posted that ad with your own real-life info - STOP NOW.

Secondly, posting a package containing faecal material (of any species) would likely be a criminal offence. Don't do it.

Yas is right. Third, freight baiting is strictly outlawed under our rules as the scammer will use a phished shipping account to move the junk. It harms innocent 3rd parties, but not the scammer. Please read the house rules and guidelines, there is a link at the top of the page.

If you did not switch to a baiting account and start over with a nonexistent make of laptop and a nonexistent street address as soon as you realized it's a scam, stop answering the scammer. Do not tell him you figured out it's a scam. Do not send him anything, whether communication or package. Ignore all further messages of any sort from the scammer. Do not answer the phone if he calls.

Make yourself a baiting account. Get a mentor. Then, answer the lad as if he had answered an ad placed by your baiting character for an item that doesn't exist.
