Your post has given me all kinds of different emotions. From anger, pissed off, sad, confused and then, sorrow.

Do you realize that many on this board are former victims? Some of them didn't just lose money, they lost their ability to trust themselves and others, they were emotionally scarred, probably for life, because some criminal didn't care that a person was lonely and just wanted to find the special one to spend the rest of their life with and someone, a criminal, took that away from them. That cuts pretty deep, to the deepest part of their being, to who they are, how they feel, to the depth of their inner core. The losing the money part was just .0001% of what these criminals have done to them. They will never be the same person they were before they opened that email and read, with enthusiasm, about someone who they thought might be "the one".

We don't care if they don't get our jokes, we don't want them to get it. What we are trying to do is de-educate them with BS, so when they use the lines we have de-educated them with, a real potential victim sees red flags and says "Somethings not right here..."

I read a bait the other day and two phrases stood out to me. It was a scam whose focus is holocaust survivors. Two phrases stuck out, one was "The Jews got together with ..." and the other "I know all about your holocaust rhetoric...". Tell me, how would you feel if your friend or family member was a holocaust survivor and read that? Don't you want them to think, "Hold up buddy, what did you just say?". That's de-education and one of the many purposes for doing what we do.

Another thing is we waste their time, their internet cafe money, cell phone credits, take down their fake bank website, close their bank accounts, report their stolen credit cards and cash money they scammed from real victims. You know what that means? They don't have it, so they won't be able to scam another with it. That's pretty awesome, huh?

A lot of the baits on this board are really funny. Sometimes I think I am going to piss myself because I am laughing so hard. I could never get away and do what they do. I am kinda like you, just not that funny. Sucks, huh? What you don't know is, for every 1 funny/silly bait, there are a few hundred that are just straight baiting, (If you don't know what that is, you clearly haven't read enough here to know what we do) not really of interest to anyone else to read. Kind of like a dry read. Like reading an owners manual for something that you don't own and never will.

So, while some part of me agrees with Tsnerd on how to not come back, why don't you do this:

Contact the moderators and ask them to shut down your account. Then I want you to pull up a chair and read this bait and imagine that Derrick is a real victim and you have stumbled upon their emails, okay? After you've read all 22 pages, then maybe read another of his threads and do the same.

IF after you are done and you still feel the way you did when you started this thread and wrote your post, then just forget about us and not come back and we'll all call it a day. If it changes your opinion and view of what we really do here, then sign up again under a new name and we'll start from scratch, okay?

I would rather give you a second chance than have you walk away without really understanding what all these fine men and women do with their time. I would rather have you become one of us as there are countless more of them and we need your honest to goodness help. You have to understand what we do and what our goal is, so if you do want to be serious and join in, read everything you can and come join the fun and let's save some potential victims lives, okay?

We do this because we care about people we don't know, people we'll never meet and they will never know that they could have been scammed. We know their lives won't be ruined because we took away the ability for these criminals to do what they consider an "honest job".

I was going to write you a scathing response, but I am about to start on a new chapter of my life today, for the better, but you were bring my good juju down, so I had to fix that.

Spicy Bacon Artichoke Dip

INGREDIENTS
One 10-ounce package frozen chopped spinach
One 8-ounce package cream cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
3 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
One 14-ounce can artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Heat the frozen spinach in the microwave for 5 minutes. Carefully squeeze out as much water as possible and set aside.

Microwave the cream cheese for 1 minute. Combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, cayenne, and garlic powder in a large bowl, and blend together well. Add the spinach, bacon, artichoke hearts, and both cheeses. Stir all the ingredients together until everything is well combined.

Spread the mixture out in a pie or tart plate or in a small casserole dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbling and slightly browned on top.

Serve hot with crackers, pita crisps, or vegetable sticks, or inside a hollowed-out sourdough bread with the cubed bread on the side.

Well, I was thinking of posting "can I have this guy as my mentee" spiced up with a properly suggestive smilie but after all SBAH wrote, and this part especially, I actually don't feel like making a snarky comment. And anyone who knows me should be calling the paramedics right now after hearing that.

Before the nice people in white coats arrive, I'm just saying that this post made me realize one thing. All the rest of you would have gotten that joke, whereas he wouldn't have. I somehow like the irony in that. I will cherish it greatly in the padded room.
