I have no idea if this lad is male or female. The pic they sent was female, but I know the internet is full of these pics. Are there any tips that are specific to love baits? If they ask for a pic of me I will, of course, never send my own pic. But I was also told not to use one of anyone else as they can use that pic to scam on people. What is the best course of action when they ask for one?

Here's something that's fun for the whole family:

1) Do a search for a .dll file on your computer. Large enough to take time downloading but still small enough to be emailed.

2) COPY and paste it somewhere you can find it easily. Rename the copy hotpic.jpg (or whatever you want as long as the extension ends in .jpg)

3) Send it to lad as an attachment

Now when lad opens it it won't work cos it's not a picture (but won't damage the computer lad is using), but lad doesn't know that. So when lad says it doesn't work, tell him it works fine at your end and resend the attachment. Ask him what operating system he uses and no matter what system he uses tell him it's wrong and he needs to get a different one. Rename the .dll file send that to lad and go to great pains to explain how much trouble you went through to get the pic. Tear him a new asshole when he says it doesn't work

Then tell him that you are SO disappointed. You went to SO much trouble to get the picture taken (private photographers, nude shots) and he can't be bothered to even open it. If your character is male talk about how you could get into trouble if it were to get into your bosses hands and she can't even be bothered to open it!

Lots of lad exasperation, hysterics for everyone else

My mentor gave me a link to a site that only exists to create files than cannot be opened. And you can pick any file type and the file size. Is that kinda what you are talking about?

Just general info-rom scammer are almost always male and steal pics from a variety of sources, most frequently porn stars. Vlads, from Russia and Eastern europe have been know to pay local women for pics.

I go the minor celeb route-for my male characters, I use the governor of my state. It's weird but not a single lad or vlad has twigged about it.

The thing about love baits is you can introduce your inner crazy. Make up a whole family of crazy. Make your own rules. The scammer will stay on script for a certain period but has to keep the victim happy-which is different from other types of baits. This is purely my take on it, but love lads have to exert more effort with the victim.

There are also some real low level lads who scam by phone text or PMs only. Feel free to abuse them and demand email only! You may want to look at some of the epic baits like Femi or NextVictim's harem.

I also use D celebrities or people that are not very attractive. Having one or two pics to give a lad is not helping them that much because they could find a couple pics of a person to use anywhere. Sending a lad a whole bunch of pics of the same person, that could be a problem.

I always delay first before sending. They ask and I say I will, then I don't. Usually an email or two will go by before they ask again, sometimes they never will and the whole bait goes by without me ever sending a pic. Then if they demand, I will either send the standard pic I have for my characters or I will send a broken file as described above, depending on if I want to go that route.

And welcome to the love shack, Zilla! We're always needing more love baiters. Make sure you read all of the stickys in here as well because there's a lot of useful info that pertains specifically to these kinds of baits. And definitely read Next Victim's baits. He mostly straight baits the lads and you will learn from reading his how best to start out.

What a twist to the story. My lad has just informed me that her recently dead father left her millions and needs my help to smuggle her and the money out of the refugee camp she is currently in. Does this happened often in a love scam?

It's not a romance scam - it's a refugee scam.

Scammers will often pose as refugees (and send photos of themselves looking healthy in designer gear Rolling Eyes

), with rich dead fathers and a large sum of money they want you to receive for them.

You will soon be introduced to the pastor (or some other 3rd party) who you can talk to - the scammer is male, so he needs a male figure for victims to speak to on the phone.

It must have morphed into that. It started off with her telling me she wants a relationship and that I am the one for her. The second email started this whole help me get me and this money out. Do I play this one like a straight bait or are there going to be some more layers to it?

She starts like that - but it is never intended to be a romance scam, it is just the initial hook to draw the victim in.

As soon as the femail character can be effectively dropped, she will be. You'll be introduced to a pastor who will act as her verbal communication (she'll be unavailable when you call, unless the scammer has a female available to play her) and then the bank/barrister, who will do the actual arrangements of getting your new found wealth to you - from then on, all you will hear from the refugee is the occasional message asking how the transaction is going, just to push the illusion that she is real.

Remember, it's your bait. Don't let the lad take you where you don't want it to go.

If you want it to remain a romance scam, simply tell the lad you have money of your own, much more than whatever they're offering and that you want them, not their cash.

You can also point out that your (insert made up) religion precludes you from talking to pastors from other religions, as it is considered blasphemy to do so. Then remind them of all that money you have and ask them if they would convert to your made up religion

Following on from the excellent advice of internationalchrysis, another way to play is to say that you don't need their money cos you have millions of your own, but you do know someone that is desperate for funds, and put laddie intouch with a new character, so that you can play him from two seperate angles.

There have been times when I have unearthed a real prize lad, and you don't want to let go of those rare gems...

So I have taken multiple characters to extremes....there is the lonely lady he is romancing, who puts laddie intouch with her friend in need of funds, who inturn puts him intouch with her lawyer.... etc etc

In the meantime, another of my lonely ladies contacts laddie, starting up another romancing.
At some point in the future the two lonely ladies meet by chance on a dating site and realise that their man is cheating on them...laddie gets lots of slaps and has to talk his way out of it...etc etc.....

The more characters you can introduce to complicate matters and eat into laddie's time, means the less time he has to actually work on a real victim.

It's a win / win situation Laughing

A while back I was helping some newer members see how the baits progress and get their first piggies from them. You might want to take a look at the baits in that thread as you'll see how they will tell you their sob story, introduce the reverend, who you can choose to talk to or not, then comes the banker, then the lawyer.

These baits are great for a couple of piggies. The Senegalese lads are very lazy and don't often like to deviate from their scripts. I usually follow along with everything they want, get their piggies then move on to the next. You can have some fun with them though and stretch them out for quite awhile. Sometimes, months later, the lad will escape the refugee camp and will leave money for you with the reverend for all your help and they will try to get money from you that way. You can then get another couple of pigs out of them.

Yeah, I've got one of these now, I'm going to try to turn it back into a romance, if not I dump it. I like the religious angle, I'll probably borrow that when the "pastor" contacts me. Very Happy
