basically, there are tools that hurt way more than a cashbait (they hardly bite and if they really do, they then know your address and you aren't anything better than the scammer.)

the best example is a safari, the scammer is on tour, sees nice new places and gets lots of fresh air. and while sitting in that stinky crowded bus on tour from lagos to accra, he has no time to receive nor send mails to victims.

when they arrived, they usually get so happy, that they may show their happiness to their other customers, who might end the conversation.

furthermore, the friendly bus drivers like to have money in nice bills. not that plasticy stuff called credit card. so even if the scammer has a credit card number, it's worthless in that situation. he has to pay the fare from his hard scammed money.

or for example convice your friend of getting a tattoo for the church where you are a bishop, high inquisitor or the pope, because it's an old tradition... since the moment when you invented it together with the church. the lad has something that will last longer than his phone, or his girlfriend (especially if the text below that bison head says: I give BJ).

If you want to read about the pain we do here, look at my sig line. Each and every one of those baits is pure lad pain, misery and humiliation. That is much more fun than sending a box of dirty diapers. Just don't have any beverages while reading, I will not be responsible (nor the baiter involved) for damaged hardware! Razz

the only thing I thought about sending a lad (by the regular postal services): a letter.

after failed WU, MG, bank-transfers and so on, the last possibility could be a letter with money. and inside the envelope, there should be a nice message of gomer, who again managed to chop laddies dollah out of a closed envelope.

no ITPs involved since the letter would have been regularly paid...

The only exception there is for sending a lad stuff, is if they include an address in the opening format, or one of their forms.

You ALWAYS!!!! send the fees to that address rather than trust it to westy. I like to tuck the lolly inside a nice card with fluffy kittens on the front. Laughing

^^^ Heh, lads love it when you say you've mailed them a check. Some of them don't understand what a check is, so you have to spend another email explaining to them that "check" is the same as "cheque." I've been called all manners of stupid by lads whom I've told the check's in the mail. That's how much they love it. I love I don't have to waste a stamp to frustrate them.

Since they probably give you a false address in the introduction phase, I think you could fraudstrate them by telling, you sent check/cash by mail to mentioned address Very Happy

I do that every time they tell me to send money and don't give me WU instructions. They always want me to get my check back and send the money by WU. Then I have to explain that it's already in the mail and there's no way to retrieve it. After a few more E-mails I tell them I've put a stop payment on the check so when it arrives it'll be worthless. I then tell them I will only send the money by Bank to Bank transfer. You can sometimes feel their blood boiling as you go.

As for scamming the scammer? I don't do that, I bait them. There's a huge difference in what we do compared to what the Scammers do. Largely having to do with our code of ethics against things like cash baiting, sending an ID, or involving innocent third parties. All of which a scammer has zero problem with doing.

I had great fun explaining to a lad how the post works and that I'd put the money order in a post box. I ended up sending him a picture of a post box and asking him how he thought I should retrieve the letter.

It's not my fault I was born on the wrong side of the Pond. But I did grow up with English neighbors, so hopefully I can be redeemed just a little bit. Laughing

I stopped doing it a couple of months ago and don't really talk about those baits here for obvious reasons.
