Anyone scammed the scammers somehow? Scam the scammer?

I've started scam-baiting recently after a long hiatus.

What I'm longing to see are stories, pictures, emails, videos, audio, anything, about the scammers being scammed themselves.

Let's say a re-shipping scammer is expecting his load of ill-gotten laptops, or other electronics, but instead the scam-baiter sends him a box full of used diapers?

Maybe a scammer gets a visit, or a knock on the door while he is trying to scam?

Maybe the scammer's actual personal information is turned over to other scammers and they ruin his credit, or take all his money out of his real bank account?

Hello new person.
I suggest you read the rules.
We don't scam.
We bait.
We don't send diapers or anything to scammers. They'll use a stolen credit card to pay for shipment.
Scammers don't use their own bank accounts.

Why would anyone want to knock on a criminal's door? I don't understand this question.

If you'd like to see pictures and BAITS, they're all over this place.
Just start reading.

I've heard of people sending them USED diapers, not new ones, in place of their ill-gotten merchandise and the merchandise is returned to the merchant. The people notified that their credit card is compromised, and the law enforcement authorities notified.

The scammer wanted the person to re-ship, using their own funds. So they used the cheapest method and shipped them used diapers. But I didn't get to see any replies after. I was just wondering if they could be seen here!

^^^What Ginger Lee said. Furthermore, we bait safely. Showing up at the door of a known scammer is the antithesis of that.

We do NOT send packages of garbage to scammers. We do NOT extract cash from scammers.

I do know of an incidence of one scammer attempting to scam (specifically, to dollar-chop) another scammer whom I was baiting. Since I did not send any actual money, the chopper got nothing.

What does "IBTL" mean?

Scammers have credit? I thought they just used other people's.

Since, I probably added to the non-sense, I will apologize. It was rude of me to post as I did and a bit out of character.

That being said, in addressing "What I'm longing to see are stories, pictures, emails, videos, audio, anything, about the scammers being scammed themselves," you will find years of all of the above hear. However, and importantly, you will find none of them dealing with scammers being scammed themselves, unless you mean we tell them we sent money and didn't; we're going to meet them somewhere and don't; or we tell them our name is Brian or Brea Ware and it isn't. If that constitutes scamming the scammer, then I am guilty.

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it's not because it's not safe, it's because I never let a scammer know I baited him. If he finds out I am just a "joker" to him, he'll move on to a real victim. Plus, why should I waste my money on him? I want to waste his time, money and resources on me!

Don't forget that sending dirty diapers would not be handled by just you and the scammer, it would be handled by other people who are innocent third parties, and we never involve them if we can help it.

I had a case of the sillies and since I'm very immature, I probably shouldn't have IBTL'd this thread.
Oscar kicks my butt for my inappropriate behavior by posting links to songs that will distract me from sounding like a tool.

Back on topic, I have to address the cc issue. When the cc is reported stolen, IF it's reported stolen, someone is out money. How does Fed/ex or UPS get their money for shipment. They are innocent in all of this.

Attempting to scam the scammer would only result in additional innocent third parties being harmed. As Ginger pointed out, someone has to eat the cost of charges made on a stolen credit card.

It seems unlikely that a scammer would give you his own address. They use mules to receive shipments, checks, etc., and those mules are usually a victim of the scammer as well. You'd just be creating another trail of ITP's and it would never do one drop of harm to the actual scammer.

^^I don't agree that it's scamming them. It's baiting. There's a big difference.

I think the problem with this whole thread is the phrase 'scam the scammer.' To say that any one of us ever scams the scammer, IMO, puts us on the same level as the scammer. The definitions of baiting and scamming are two entirely separate things. It's true that baiting is lying. It's true that we get them to send us art or travel essentially by fraud BUT unlike the scammer that commits fraud, we have nothing to gain by doing so. Like others have said, we don't cash bait at Eater. I've also had two lads split from each other and try to chop the fictional money being sent.

Saying that we scam the scammer is saying that we are also scammers and I for one don't like being called a scammer. Saying JC's art bait was scamming is incorrect as well. He's too cute to be a scammer. Wink

The thread title did provoke me.
To be behaving as a 'scammer' was something I took offense to.
I think the OP just may have confused the words 'scamming' and 'baiting'.
I'll just chalk it up to a mistake made-lesson learned.

ETA: I do not know if the OP's eater name is his real name so I will avoid using it until otherwise informed.

Scamming is the wrong word, I feel, because of the financial nature of most scams. We don't take money from them. We deceive them, inconvenience them, humiliate them, entice them to pass up other opportunities and put them under enormous pressure. We trick them into destroying their lines of credit and the trust that exists between them and their fellows. Importantly, we deny them the use of key assets such as money mules, foreign and domestic bank accounts and keep them away from real victims. So we do a proper job on them - We can ruin their whole life, no kidding, but I wouldn't say we scam them.
