I picked this lad�s email from Scam O� Rama (http://www.scamorama.com/thecure.html) and replied him from one of my scam baiting addresses. I attach all the headers, except for the first message�s which is not published in Scam O� Rama.

The scamster pretends to be The Cure�s leader Robert Smith. The Security Company man is Paul Simon (Simon & Garfunkel?).

All looks relatively fine for the crook, until one alleged �hacker and scam baiter� warns the victim he is undoubtedly being swindled by one of the stupidest mugus all around the world. The �victim� forwards the warning to the lad and gets a long explanation from him.

Characters:

Samir Bustani: scam baiter
Robert Smith: fraudster, impersonating The Cure's singer.
Paul Simon: fraudster, impersonating an official of Coin Security Ltd., London.
Paul Simon: hacker and scam baiter impersonating the previous one.
Abdulezz or Abdul Azeez Mohammed: Mr. Robert Smith's Dubai lawyer.

Dear Friend.

As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me, because, I believe everyone will die someday.

My name is Dr. Robert Smith, a merchant in Dubai, and ex-singer with leading rock band The Cure. I have been diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer which was discovered very late, due to my laxity in carrying for my health. It has defiled all forms of medicine, and right now I have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts.

I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone not even myself but my business. Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focus on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it.

Now that God ! has called me, I have willed and given most of my properties and assets to my immediate and extended family members and as well as a few close friends. I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul and so, I have decided to give arms to charity organizations and give succour and confort to the less priviledged in our societies, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this my self anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization and to the less priviledged in Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them.

The last of my money which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit of thirty four million dollars that I have with a Security Company in Europe for safe keeping. I will want you to help me collect this deposit and disburse it to some charity organizations and to the less priviledged. Please send me a mail to indicate if you will assist me in this disbursement.

And nobody replied. Few days later I got the message I forwarded you, from somebody claiming to be Paul Simon with this address: [email protected] , and with the same phone numbers you gave me. What number I was supposed to call? Should the real Paul Simon had replied me on time, I wouldn�t have got confused by this impostor.

Anyway I have to tell you that I am a bit afraid about the legality of the transaction, and while you know all about me I don�t know your street address at Dubai, or Mr. Simon�s street address at London. I believe you, but I have to be absolutely sure before we go any further. You mentioned your lawyer, Mr. A. Mohammed. I assume that he is from Dubai, where you currently live, and that he is a true Muslim like me, and that his first language is obviously Arabic like mine. Just send me a fax or an email in Arabic from him, certifying that he is your lawyer and assuring that all our transaction is 100 % legal and risk free. Now I have a trophy! A handwritten letter (in Arabic) from a barely alphabetized person. Could be an illiterate Arab or may be somebody that scarcely learnt to write and speak the language. I'd risk he is a Muslim from a non Arab speaking country who learnt a bit in a religious school.

Worth seeing no matter if you understand any Arabic or not:

I managed to partially translate the ridiculous letter. I tried to �translate� also the original spelling and grammar mistakes to similar ones in English. I marked with [xxx] some words I could not decipher at all.
Interestingly the writer spells �Robat� instead of �Robert�. That hints what the accent of the guy in charge of the dictation was. The writer could not distinguish the second �r� in �Robert�, because the way it was pronounced. IMHO the dictating guy was a Nigerian.

I replied the "Dubai lawyer" in Arabic, so the lad will have to call the illiterate for a translation. I said to the "lawyer" that his letter seems to be from a child, it has no seal and there is a difference in his name: "Mohammed Abduleez" or "Abdul Azeez Mohammed". Lets see if he responds.

Joseph told me that a lot of Nigerian con men are involved in scams by impersonating protocol officers and employees of security companies, so we left him alone and I think he was not even aware that we were actually there, just a few steps from him. Joseph has been like a safeguard for me against these confusing dangers.

I am staying in London for some more days, until the transfer is credited in my account.
