Just a heads up, out there in the wild, students are being actively recruited certainly in the UK and likely beyond in order to 'work converting Bitcoins'. They're to keep 10% of the haul, £500+/day etc. Clearly nonsense, but it has the added sparkle of novelty and Bitcoins.
I don't know of anyone who has followed through, but I'm pretty certain it'll just be a money mule job, or better still they'll have to cashflow £5k themselves and suddenly find their bitcoins are just long numbers/whatever. It'll end in tears of course.
Part of the supposed incentive to secrecy is the suggestion they'll be being used with 'Silk Road' - the online anonymised illegal drugs website. I guess most mules will keep schtum as opposed to go to the police when they've been fleeced and are now sitting pretty as the Bitcoin wallet that bought thousands of pounds worth of decent quality opiates. |
