Do Western union require ID?

HI,

currently got a scammer to upload a few forms to get his western union form all working etc.

I have noticed that he's insisting on me transferring the money to a guy called Abuja Gradys, not the alias he was talking to me with.

I was wondering, is that his real name?

With Western union do you actually need proper ID to collect the money or do the scammers have a way aroudn this?

ID is not always required, that is why they ask you to use a question and answer. There are also Western Union agents who'll look the other way (for a slice of the action).

With a Q&A the scammer can pick up the money without ID. I doubt that the name he gave you is his real one (although it could be his mule (pick-up guy)).

Not sure how accurate this figure is, but I understand the 'going rate' for turning a blind eye in a London Western Union is about 20% of the haul.
