With all of the pictures you see from Nigeria, the hovels, the run-down caf'es, the general overall poverty, there sure seems to be so much vast, untold fortunes and millionaires looking to give their money away. You would think these scam victims could put 2 and 2 together, and ask themselves "How does such a poor country have so many millionaires?"
It still amazes me how gullible people can be, and how there are still victims falling for this sort of scam.  |

It's not just the gullible, some people are desperate, others lonely, some just plain greedy.
Also, please remember scammers are not all Nigerian, there are scammers in pretty much every country out there. |

Nigeria is actually a very Wealthy Country but it is riddled with corruption. A small minority hold all the assets. Kinda sad really. |

I think people believe in the "Get rich quick" scenario. Stuff like lotteries, casinos, and the stock market promise big money to win but the reality is the only ones making the money are the ones putting out the games.
Yeah, some scams are so transparent I have to wonder if anyone actually falls for them. But in all honesty, I almost did. It was a good thing that I was busy the day I received my first 419 E-mail. I had time to think about it and realize that it just couldn't be true. |
