Hello there!

I've been to the main site a number of times and have occasionally tried to bait 419 scammers with no success.

This time I have a bite!

New webmail account set up and £10,000,000 (10 MILLLION GBP) is but an email to someone at "Standard Bank" away. Huzzah!

Made myself a fake ID as he wanted a driving licence but other than just bumbling on once a week or so and making silly mistakes (like forgetting my attachment) I could do with a quick plan for what to do next.

I might try to demand proof they're really in the UK by asking for a photo of them holding the day's paper, or perhaps a difficult to locate magazine to see what their photoshop skills are like. Thoughts welcome!

Edit: I've just read Jose Cuervo's automated PM and see I shouldn't send fake IDs as they may be used by the scammer in the future. Luckily I "forgot" to add the attachment in the assumption that this would cause a delay, yet I seem to have progressed to Level 3 despite that so thankfully no ID has been forwarded. And won't be (see, I've learned something already!).

I have tried scam baiting before with very little success with only a form or two that I had the scammer fill out as a trophy. I tried bating again for a short time last winter but again with no success

Thought I had best sign up as I have a live one on!
Long story short - I am selling the wife's car (for real actually) and Autotrader has so far supplied me with four potential scammers and as I woke up in a bad mood today I looked around for someone onto which I should vent my spleen!

It turns out to be a very nice chap called "David" who has even had the kindness to call me this morning after I supplied him with a telephone number. Now off to grab someone to get him well and truly on the line!

Welcome aboard everyone! Have a good look around the Eater Uni and the stickied posts in H,H&T, do lots of reading to get an idea of what your lad may tell you and ways to avoid, avert or just get under their skin, and if you feel ready sign up for a mentor.

Hi I am new here, very interesting site.

I found it while researching a microsoft repair phone scam that my mother almost got taken by. I just happened to visit my elderly mother and discovered the scammer had a remote connection to her computer and was in the process of trying to talk her out of a credit card # and $500.00 or more. This scumbag had turned on her web cam and was looking at her. I saw what was happening and yanked the cable out of the router.

I am here for one reason, I want to make some scammers feel just like my mother did when she found out the guy was scamming her.

Make the Scammer Scratch his head at the end of the Day or Week or Month or Year and say 'What the Heck Happened?' Its worth the price of admission!!! Never tell a Scammer you are on to them as they will learn from their experiences. De-Educate or as I like to say Dumb them down!

I came across this site a couple of years ago when (suprise suprise) I received the same email from several individuals wanting to ship me a whole load of money (wow, really? Thanks!). Recently found it again and absolutley love the skill and art involved (quite literally from reading through) with which ShiverMeTimbers baits the slime with which he deals.

Love the site, the correspondance has me in fits of laughter, and once I get the basics down looking forward to joining in the fun and wasting some scammers time.

I had been to the site a few years ago and remember reading some of the hilarious stories. Just came back a few days ago and decided to join. I have sent a response (from a new email account) to a lad's email I got a few weeks ago and have my first bite. After a few emails, he has sent me a Word document to fill out and return to him. I think I will claim I can't open it.

I've been lurking on here for a little while, I used to be big on spamfighting back around 2000-2002, lost most interest when the Washington law got overturned and all the spammers started to be botnets pushing pills and porn :-/

I used to lurk a lot on here back around 4-5 years ago, but didn't really get into baiting until I happened across a book at B&N "Scamorama" and that reminded me of here. and then I looked in my email and behold, fresh 419 Smile

I hope you have made up fake email addresses, not safe to bait from real life emails

You need to have posted at least once before it will let you apply for a mentor try again now
