Anther panorama, this time of London from the BT Tower, this ones a 360-degree view made up of 320 gigapixels and 48,000 individual frames, creating the world's largest panoramic photo.

Click on the 'Thank you London' to make it go away, then roll your mousewheel to zoom in. I found lots of little roofgardens, shame it wasn't done in sunny weather Wink

I wish I knew how the find the Apple building (on Savile Row IIRC), where the Beatles did their rooftop gig (their final live performance). ETA: Google maps tells me if I look due south towards Buckingham Palace, who's roof is visible over some trees, its somewhere in between. I need to dig out an image from Let It Be to help me recognize it. Or do some work Smile

That may well be the BT Tower, where they took the 2012 photo from, on the mid horizon.

My dad worked on the foundations of the then Post Office Tower. Putting in trunking (not boxes) tunnels for the cables to keep communications going if nuclear war broke out. He had to sign a official secrets acts form I remember.

Might be able to see my house on there somewhere.

Found Ally Pally. A well known landmark close to where I live. Dutch Olympic team where based there last year. It was party town for two weeks. Laughing

If you look south south west for the building with two red flags (Hamleys) and the two big red tower cranes, you are looking in the right direction.
But it does look like Gossard House is in the way. I used Google Street view along with Hamleys and the corner of Regent Street to narrow down the location (Use the start of the curved part of Regent Street as a marker)

Thanks IG, I was definitely looking in the right area, I was hoping to spot the 7 tall chimneys and the greenhouse like building to the right.

Theres a lot going on around there, if I had more time to waste I could try and pin down 3 Savile Row with Google maps, but if there's something in the way I'm never going to find it
