Anyone here getting affected (or has been affected) by the Blizzard hitting the Northeast in the U.S.?

It just started here in Syracuse about 2 hours ago, and we've had six inches of snow so far. Another 6 to 8 inches or so by morning.

For us here, it's just an annoyance as we are used to it. But I guess Boston, New York City, etc., are going to get more than that.

For those being affected, hang in there and be safe!

We're getting some snow here, and expecting something like 12-18 in total, but we're used to it too. I worked from home today. I'm more worried about the wind than the snow accumulations. Losing power would be bad.

It has been pounding here since last night. The ride in this morning was a bit slow but not too bad. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have bothered but it was my Mum's 83rd so I made the effort.

The ride home was okay I guess but there is at least a foot of snow on the ground and the wind is kinda rough. Luckily there weren't many idiots on the road other than one Clown who was passing on a blind hill and nearly took us out. Sadly I know the 'Campbell' and promise to well... let's leave it at that!

No power outages as of yet but our local Plow Guy can't keep up with the mess. I can't help much as my ATV is missing its starter at the moment. With any luck I can put the sucker on in the morning and start cleaning up....

Call from a friend in Hartford CT, lots of snow and wind and drifting against cars. Advised him to charge his phone and keep warm.

I'm near Hartford. 2 feet of snow this morning, possibly even more. I'm not running outside with a ruler to check. Smile

Lots here. Now comes the fun part. Snowblowing and hot chocolate, then head to the ski slopes!! Nothing like fresh powder and being first in line on the lift. (Wish I still did that.) Very Happy

We received about a foot over all, which isn't too bad. Main streets are plowed and clear, now they need to work on the secondary streets.

What moron at the Weather Channel decided to name this storm Nemo??

^Aww C'mon Nemo is such a cute name!

Saturday is simply gorgeous around these parts with the sun shining and such. I was able to repair my ATV (rebuilt starter) and get on my way...well sort of.

It had been housed at a neighbours garage and he put his ATV behind mine. After getting mine running, I moved his out of the garage and promptly got it stuck. Then I got mine out and pulled his to freedom then returned it to the garage. Sadly it doesn't seem to have functioning brakes so his work bench is a bit um cleaner than it was earlier today. Then I go home and started pushing the mess off the driveway and got stuck. Once freed I made my way up the hill and ran out of gas. After refuelling, I went down the hill and got really stuck. Mr. Plow pulled me out and so now I sit drinking beer....

Were about 2 feet, maybe more here. Drifts though are piled up wicked high in some parts.

Thats a deal I have a 16 car parking lot tell them if the can do it in under 3 hours ill give them abonus plus hot choc. Laughing

Almost 2' here. Only the Blizzard of 1888 was worse. Town had to use front end loaders to move the snow but without places to put it, it's just stacking.

Now today dealing with about 1/4" of rain, will be a real headache when the temps drop below freezing over night.

This is Hawaii and it's 80 degrees.

Never mind.

(Family back in Cape Cod got wise and bailed...headed to Vermont where they got "only" 18 inches. Brrrr.)

Heh, yeah those too. Although we haven't had a major one in a few years. When I first got here, we were having one every couple of weeks.

Ha, actually in the last two years here we've had, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, blizzards.... not sure if there isn't a natural disaster that hasn't been tossed our way Wink
