Unsolicited Confession?

I was going through the motions with a garden variety beneficiary lad when all of a sudden he responded with this confession. It's clearly written by a lad and I also suspect that it's the original lad because of his use of "westeen union" (also used in previous emails). I'm curious about what would prompt him to "out" himself like this, any ideas?

I have seen one do this before. My Jamaica chick. MALM scared them with a cop thing and she actually admitted to both of my characters but kept right on with the scam.

This does seem like some form of progress but then again, it could just be another method to sucker someone. Pretend to be reformed and then complain about how hard life is and then ask for money.

But either way, that's pretty cool to get an open admission. I have to imagine (because my faith in humanity depends upon it) that there does exist the occasional lad that feels some sense of remorse. Though, it is well observed that sociopaths are quite skilled at playing human emotion for their own benefit.

If they do they wont remain in this 'business' for long. If they wont tell lies about having cancer or their children being seriously ill (etc) some other lad will and take their dolla. You can only be a successful scam artist by being the lowest form of scum imaginable. People with a conscience need not apply in Ladland.

there's also a (small) possibility that a scammer left his account logged in at the cybercafe and someone else wrote you that message from it. That does seem to happen on very rare occasions.

They could also be setting you up for a "recovery" scam but if so, this is a very awkward way to do it compared to the usual approach.

anyway I'd proceed along with the bait as if I'd never received this message and see what happens.

I think that's what happened because in his next message he apologised and assured me "i dont want to eat somebody money" and continued with the scam.
