For the past few months I have been running a bait with the central focus being the soccer (a.k.a. "football" to the rest of the world  ) competition going on in South Africa. I was trying (unsuccessfully it turns out) to get the lad to travel to South Africa to watch the tourament. I was going to pay his way to travel from Lagos to SA and his expenses while there but somehow, the money transfer always got messed up. No idea how that happened. 
Anyway, the lad looks like he has had enough. This morning I got the following:

Of course, his Yahoo IP resolved to Lagos so I fired back some highly insulting stuff and told him, among other things, that he was too stupid to work for me. With a little luck I can spark a flame war. Those are SO much fun!
EDIT: Yes, the lad is HOT. He has fired off a series of emails in the past few minutes including this gem:

Well, he has certainly wasted a boatload of time trying to weasel money out of me but I think his biggest pain was the disappointment of not getting an all-expenses-paid trip to go watch soccer for a month. This lad seems like he is a huge soccer fan and my offer was a dream come true for him. He thought he was going to get paid to go watch his favorite sport for a month. Sucks for him it didn't work out. Poor lad is heart-broken, I'm sure. |

Yeah, I love the way this lad keeps screwing with the phrase "road warrior". I used that expression early in the bait to explain why I didn't have an office address and I guess that impressed him because he used the phrase a couple of times (mis-spelled of course). In this little flame war, he has called my a "road worrier" and a "road worker". I can't tell if the lad thinks that is an insult or if he is just stupid. I tend to think the latter. |

Sorry for the minor necro of this thread but I guess this lad doesn't check his box very often. Anyway, I got a reply from him today. Here is the exchange:

So now I have been demoted from "road worker" to "road ant".
I must admit I am a little confused by his phrase, "A guy no chop Guy man". He has said that several times during our flame war. What, exactly, does he mean by this? I mean, I thought I understood what a "guyman" is and what a "chop" is but this just doesn't seem to make much sense to me in this context. Is he admitting that he is a scammer? Is he saying that he thinks I am a scammer too but that it is a violation of some weird scammer's code of ethics for one scammer to scam another scammer? I don't get it.
In my next reply, I will use firehouse5's observation about Nigeria winning the tournament. This is a slow moving war but much fun nonetheless. |
