I'm curious if anyone else is seeing a bunch of lads returning for more abuse after many, many months. I've had a few that I had strung along (sometimes for weeks) that have come back out of the blue in the last week or so.

I wonder if this an indication that business is not so good...?

And for the new guys, this is also one of the many reasons NOT to burn your lad at the end of the bait. None of my returning pets has a clue they were baited in the first place!

Its not that unusual, lads are lazy and forgetful, just don't remind them !!

have not been into baiting for long [some time before realising there was a name for it and joining here though] and have noticed emergence of an oldie of mine with a slightly different story.
their desperation probably doesnt help if theyre living in a third world place but woud like to think the general population is wising up to e-scamming with all the media awareness available these days.

I've gotten a few that twigged on me back too. One emailed me last week after a month and a half hiatus, and then took another week of abuse from me before remembering why he twigged in the first place. Smile

You have to take into account the ego of lads when they return. Do they know you were messing them about the first time, probably most of them do. However, they don't quite understand us and what we do and they think they have the skill to outwit us and guilt us into sending money. I notice a lot of scammers who return will explain their absence on the death or long illness of a family member in the hopes that you will feel bad about what you did and start coughing up the loot.

Interestingly, if you read Igwe's book 'Taking Back Nigeria from 419' he states that sometimes real victims can take months before actually paying out so maybe our behaviour is closer to that of an actual victim than we might think. This convinces the lad that he can still trick you, he just needs to tell a bigger lie.

I have noticed in the time I have been baiting, that after a few weeks or months, some lads do return -- and it is usually toward the end of the month -- sort of like a used car salesman that needs to make quota at month's end.
