It has been reported that a Grand old dame of the seas might possibly be sold for scrap to china

However the way I see it, that would be a shame, the ship has served the UK Merchant Fleet for many years including a stint down the Falklands during the conflict as a Hospital Ship.

Very sad, I saw her on her last tour around the UK coast, and watched live on TV when she was launched into the Clyde.

I saw the Queen Mary at Long Beach, where she is preserved as a hotel, though all the engines were stripped out. It would be very sad if the QE2 became so much scrap instead.
