Hi, this is my first post on this inspired forum!

fwiw, on Skype, I just received a 'Connect with you' request from someone calling themselves 'COLMCILLA Alan' wherein their intro went as follows:

My HOUSE was hit badly by the hurricane sandy that happened in the east coastal part of USA ...This tragic incident killed my parents when a 100-foot-tall, 3-foot-wide tree fell on their car.They were driving to the horse farm to prepare for the storm.....Our home got destroyed and we lost all our property,clothes ,gadgets,important documnets and and valubables...As we speak,my kid brothers and sister find it hard to survive...As the eldest,i have been trying my best to make needs meet,but its not easy...that is why i come to you with a sober heart asking you to help me and my siblings in anyway you can......

It's certainly an interesting opening gambit by an (evident) scammer though it is based on a real-life event (as described here: http://mendham-chester.patch.com/articles/couple-id-d-killed-by-fallen-tree-during-sandy ), albeit that in the scammers intro there seem to be a couple of factual errors regarding the number of siblings whom were orphaned by the tragedy.

I've responded to their request, using the following ruse (which, if the scammers take the bait, will ultimately end up with me turning into an 'outraged muslim' who will be fatwa'ing their ass all to hell !) :

As devout Sunni Muslims, and as ordained by the 5 pillars of Islam, we are bound (through Zakāt) to donate a certain amount of our personal wealth to those in need.

With this in mind, could you please provide the name of your location? Once we know that we will then locate and contact the Mosque & Iman nearest to you, and look to arrange some assistance for you with their help. By the way, what kind of assistance is it that you are looking for?

Probably first question is are you baiting safely? The scammers shouldn't have any of your real life information. If they do, then you should drop them.
