Got a call from an unknown number. The lady who answered notified me that I was selected to receive a $9000 government grant as long as I promised not to use it for illegal activities. She said they could direct deposit to a savings or checking account. Wohoo! I played along, acted stupid, gave her bogus yet convincing account information. She seemed very excited that I was on the hook. She said that I needed to call the US Treasury at "202xxxx" and speak to the operator, give her my confirmation number, receive additional directions, and the money would be deposited within 45 minutes.
So I called... multiple times from different numbers, giving them hell each time. It's fun to act like a dumbass who really REALLY needs the money, but is to stoopid to follow directions. Now I'm all out of new phone numbers to call from and they're screening my calls. Perhaps you all can call them for me and give them hell?

STOP! We absolutely have to have posted proof of a scam before numbers can be posted on the board. That means posting a scam e mail. |

I was obliged to delete the posted numbers. Forum rules do not allow posting phone numbers, email addresses, or other information without substantiation (e.g. emails with full headers).

Do not post email addresses or phone numbers without sourcing them to a scam mail or fake site. The potential for abuse of non-scammers is too great. We're not saying that you would point other baiters towards an ex-significant whatever, cheating spouse, or that neighbor who never returned your power tools. We are saying that in the past, others have. Moderators reserve the right to remove un-sourced phone numbers or email addresses, or just delete that particular post entirely (they're like your credit card company, lots of reserved rights). |
