For all of my fellow American baiters out there... we have a very timely delay excuse - Hurricane Sandy! As Sandy slams into the east coast of the US, many people are (and will be) without power, so a long silence is unavoidable. Email will be intermittent, phones will be down, files will be corrupted, WU / MG offices will be closed... honestly, the list of delays is endless.

Just a suggestion... we can get at least a few weeks out of this one.

(And best of luck to those of you who really ARE in the path of Sandy - be safe!!!)

And those of us claiming to be on a remote Pacific island that has no phones AND no Western Union offices had a tsunami warning over the weekend, which is going to string a bunch of baits along quite nicely.

(The tsunami was really small, but it evidently disrupted all sorts of things in "my" area. Heh heh...)

I am wondering this about the latest bombing in Nigeria as well. The toll was at 9 when I saw it on the news but it seemed they still had lots of work to do to clear the rubble.

Apparently it is being used by them as well. I have one pet in 2 accounts. He asked me if his mail got to me in one. In the other he says

As mentioned elsewhere, I have some characters who normally live in Maryland, but are now at a fishing city in Portugal waiting out the storm. This explains why they couldn't send any email for a few days; the RL reason was that I was on the road and taking a test. Next Monday I'm going to be again unavailable for baiting, and they will return across the Atlantic.
