I am deluged with spam from Russian Date Websites

I hope this is topical and hasn't been covered a bizzillion times 10.

This would require some experienced baiting, since some of the Russian posters at that website might be sincere. Also, I haven't been at this forum for years and I was wondering what the ins and outs of this development are. Does a lot of baiting go on in such websites? I see that match.com has an active thread now.

Specifically, I have 6 junk emails with similar formatting linking to 6 separate domains sharing the same website.

It's possible that the operators of the website don't scam directly... though dating websites are notorious for dubious business models. One involves keeping old profiles up, even if the participant has moved on long ago. That creates a vicious circle, as men (typically) react to the low response rates by sending nonpersonalized messages, and women wander away when they receive the equivalent of a lot of spam.

I get a few of these in my RL mail but they turn into the CC trash. OKCupid is picking up for me and DateMeFree has become serious in the last few days.
