Basically the bot will conduct a "conversation" with a scammer that goes on forever by replying canned messages. Members here can add dialog, and the bot can keep records of spoof phone numbers, email address and so on, so that it can create variations of replies using email addresses/phone numbers of other scammers etc.
That way this bot can be distributed amongst members and people who dont have time to counter-scam but want to participate can do so.
We can use 'cloud computing power' to our advantage.

Not enough entertainment, at least for me. Stringing a lad along for days is WAY better than television.
The poor sap I'm emailing with right now is so confused that I can't help but laugh...I'd miss that if a bot was doing the work! |

How would a bot of this nature identify a scammer? Pardon me for being an idiot with this sort of thing but is there any possible way a real person could get hung up with this also? If so, it is not a good thing. |

I would rather interact with the lad directly. With a bot where would we have fun making lads complete forms, photochop stuff to send us, trophies, the calls to/from lads, the creative writing we do, etc. Could the bot send a lad on a safari or (in the case of lads like Shorty) be baited for a couple years. Now these things are entertainment! |

Two ways:
1. It feeds on threads posted in the surplus scam letters forum here.
2. It uses classifiers (as in machine learning classifiers) to figure out what type of scam an incoming message is. If it can't identity that with high enough probability, it won't initiate a conversation.
