When using a surplus scan letter who am I meant to send a reply to?
The e-mail id at the bottom or the one appearing in "reply-to"?
Do I need the rest of the info at the top? I know what it means but was wondering if I actually need it for replying to a lad. |

You could reply to the thread in which the letter was posted, but it's not necessary and most people don't. E-mail the lad, you'll typically receive the beginning of his script, and go from there. |

It is not necessary to post your bait that you are doing from a letter you got out of surplus and replying/posting in the thread where the letter is located is not done. People go to Surplus to get letters and then bait the lad with or without posting in Help Hints & Tips.

If you send Alan a piggy, you should include enough emails, with headers, to tie the request for money to a scam format. This usually includes the message posted in surplus. For this reason I save the surplus message in a file called "start" in the directory of the bait. Similarly, when reporting a fake domain, you may need to include the original message as evidence.
As to posting baits, if you'd like to share something funny from the bait, or you need help, feel free to post. Otherwise, just bait in hiding, and publish the bait when it's finished. |
