How does one become a Mod?

I'm just curious as to how one is picked to be a mod in this establishment. Does one have to have certain knowledge, or possess certain skills, or do you just have to cozy up to Rover? Does one need to demonstrate the appropriate use of a jackboot? Does one need to have compromising photos of Slightly?

Again, just curious. Smile

A reliable source of mine (who probably wishes to remain anonymous, so let's just call her Ima B.) once explained to me that in order to become a mod you'll have to sleep with SOOI. I'm not sure how you'd arrange that though, and I didn't ask.

^^ I hear the vetting process is cruel and unusual -- tax returns from the last 20 years, criminal background check (you must have a record), your ability to take and give bribes, the ability to take photos in compromising situations, how well you hold your liquor, inter alia.

I believe that a potential Mod is asked by the Red guys and gal if they would donate their time and efforts.

The green guys and gals may get together to choose a new one, but I don't think volunteering is enough.

As for which airline, I won't say their name, but the best way to see a bunch of their planes is to head to the airport in the Queen City of the South. Smile

The world is divided into different time zones. As a flight crew member I am sure that you are aware that there is no GMT or Greenwich Mean Time. There is a Greenwich Time and a UTC or Universal Coordinated Time, also referred to as Zulu.

There is a very famous American Air Force flyer nicknamed Zulu that picked up the moniker because he was not able to make the conversion between his local time and Zulu.

Honestly, the answer of what it takes to be a Mod is mostly what it takes to be a good member here:

1) Play nice with others;
2) Make solid contributions to the forum;
3) Help your fellow Eater; and
4) Be trustworthy.

After that, you just need a very high pain tolerance and laugh at SOOI's "jokes" on the daily Mod conference calls. Oops, I'm late...

I figured as much. I kinda gather it's on an "as needed" basis that they are chosen. And I have yet to hear any of SOOI's jokes, but I'm sure they're hilarious. And, as mentioned before, I have a high tolerance for pain, as I used to be an air crew member, and anyone that knows anything about that knows they deal with a LOT of pain, physical, mental, and financial... Razz

London goes ahead in the summer and Accra does not. I get it, but those calls I made at 3 A.M. were still 3 A.M. local Accra time.

Lagos is UTC +1 so the same time as London during the summer.

Bo, bo, bo... How many times do I have to explain? The video quality on Skype just isn't good enough. Low-res webcam videos are too hard to market on pron sites; they insist on HD. Hence those quarterly meetings.

I must say, our revenue has gone up dramatically since you were modded. The freakoid sites pay pretty well for the SOOI vids but nothing like I can sell yours for on the regular sites.
