oh no, someone on my email contact is stuck in spain and got ROBBED! Oh the horror! No cell phone, no money, no credit cards, no anything, and the hotel bill keeps going up and up! if I don't get her some money, she will be stuck there forever!

Waa Waaa Waa. How do people fall for this?

Can anyone help me find the place to make a western union money order for this poor sap?

Hi there and welcome to Eater. Did the email come from your contact's actual email -- meaning it was hacked? IF so, wouldn't you be better off telling your acquaintance about his/her email account being hacked?

Yes, this did come from a hacked email account, but I've been emailing back and forth with the fake person for a couple of days now. I dont' actually know the real person. We have just been on a yahoo group together so I know "of" her.

You still should drop contact as the hacker may very well have Real Life info on the owner of the account. You making the hacker angry might cause consequences to the original owner.
