Fake agent, but real extortion

I want your feedback regarding this - if any of you have experience
baiting this scam.

They target the victims on their stolen/purchased lists
meaning they have the victims identity, i.e., address, etc.
so baiting isn't a good idea unless you do it our way.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies. The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine. I don't remember seeing this information posted here before, so helpfully this will help potential vics.

Seems a bit more sophisticated than our typical 419 scam. I don't know how you can really bait this kind of scam as they have RL information on RL people (that's how they would contact you). You can't impersonate a RL victim to bait and if you used one of your baiting characters, wouldn't they know they didn't contact you?

There is a way around that. The scammers have several
lads working the lists from several numbers. I got a number
from a complaints board, and left a voice mail like they had
called me. It worked, and the lad took it hook and all. I've
recorded conversations that are very disturbing.

Here is the first call I received after the bait message.
Within a few minutes I get a call from "special agent W**** R*** with the DEA in Washington DC"

The lad was thrilled to hear about O**s being
on probation/parole since it gave him even more
leverage (so he thought) this led to another call he
received from a woman he believed to be O**s'
Parole supervisor. That one is recorded also. Woo hoo!

This is all frighteningley sopisticated, the mule who called you was not delivering that script for the first time, or even the twentyfirst time. Evil or Very Mad

I never would have expected it to be baitable, dying to see how far this can go. (safeley of course)

May I suggest that one of the heavyweights here draws attention to this scam? It sounds worryingly professional. A lot of people are well aware and on guard of your typical 419 scam but would not be prepared for this.

http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=208531 this also similar, the imposter post as officer asking for money via bank transfer and/or wire transfer. if I happen to receive such call, it is somehow possible to bait the scam but dangerous. the clue you should get is bank acc no of the scammer, their personal phone number. for me it is good to see those imposter land themselves in custody Laughing

@Dora, I know you asked the question back when i first started this, but i wanted to give you another example of how this bait can work without being on their victim list. Today the number i used on this bait received a call from a NJ accent lad offering discount narcotics using the same script and everything. they have a sophisticated scam, but the callers (especially the first round pharmacy lads) are still worthless little street thugs mugging the elderly, and shoplifting porn when they're not doing this.

I really don't think they could get away with impersonating a federal agency without the tacit approval *of* that agency. If Axil Moto found them, then most likely the DEA can find them. Apparently you are allowed to extort money from admitted drug users under the guise of being a DEA agent as long as the real DEA gets a cut of the action. After all they are too busy smuggling drugs to engage in this kind of penny ante shite.

OMMFG the DEA impersonating fake pharmacy lads are alive and kicking. the sophistication, or vast wealth rather, keeps it going in spite of it's audacity. One federal agency refers to organized crime as many of us thought. In that case they have bigger charges to investigate before these losers get heat.
