Hello all I'm a newbie towards fighting scams. Like most of us I have seen my fair share of scams and spams, and I know the cost of all of this scamming runs into the billions of dollars every year, and the numbers become larger every year. So who pays for all of this? YOU and ME! Tax payers!

So I want to help. I already have a little bit of experiences with wasting a scammer time. It was one of those romance scams, basically the scammer stills some cute girl photo off of facebook, and make up this dating letter. Well at first I though it was a bit real; until my scammer starting to ask for money very early on in the messaging.

I then decided to take action. Normally, I would just swear up and down the email letter telling my fellow scammer how crap he was etc.... but this time I pretended to be some rich rancher. I had this fool talking to me for 2 weeks, before the scammer started to pressure me into call long distances. To which I wasn't going to do. But lacking any real skills of social engineering, I had to break the news.

So That all happen around later 2010, and since then I never had the chance to do anything else. Life had me by the ears and I simply just didn't have the time.

Now things are different for me. I want to fight these bastard.

Welcome to Eater, masterbaiterchief!

I think you will like it here - people here are very friendly to non-lads. Smile A few words of advice: Read all the stickies and rules here, bait safe (important), sign up for a mentor, and most importantly - cause lad pain and have fun. Very Happy

Once again, welcome!

EDIT: And there are ways to deal with phone calls. Wink Again, read stickies, the Eater University subforum, threads about tools and tips, and perhaps the most valuable asset we have here - each others published baits, which you will find plenty of, spread around the subfora. Wink
