Don't mention FCK to the Dane lest you want him to go apeshit. He hates them.
I saw the game yesterday (Denmark vs. Holland) and all i can say is congrats!!!
I still think that zee Germans are gonna take a clean sheet in this group, but after them it is now wide open for our southern neighbor. I do hope that the Danes make it. |

I'm a bit more optimistic about the Danish chances now, especially with the upper hand against Portugal that we've had the last few years. I also think that zee Germans will win this group, but now I believe that we can take second place.
About club teams, I support the only Danish club that has three players in this tournament. Been supporting them for quite a long time now. |

^^^ Well, those are the ones I normally support as well, since Fremad A. hasn't had a result since before the rise of Mankind. But that one season when Fremad played in the Premier divison was great. |

Sorry about that.
Good to see folks on here supporting their local/small sides. Is that typical of baiters? I believe it shows strong character rather than going down the easy route of supporting a big/successful club, unless you're lucky to have one of those teams on your doorstep of course. |

Spain-Italy later today. Probably the most interesting game of the 1st round of the group stage. How's it going to end? Spain has a formidable offense, probably the best in the world these days, while the same could be said about the Italian defense. Personally, I don't think the Italians are affected by the ongoing scandal in Serie A, so my prediction is a 1-1 draw. |

^^^I'm looking forward to Spain/Italy should be an interesting game.
Italy, as always, will be hard to break down (they had the best defensive record in qualifying).
Hope Italy start with Mario Balotelli as he could create problems for the Spanish defence.
Prediction - Spain to win 2-1

As for Ireland-Croatia, I don't have more knowledge of either team. I do know that Croatia no longer has that formidable side they used to have, and I also know that a tenacious fight is the generic trademark of the Irish team. The heart says Ireland - but the match looks open to me. My guess is, that Ireland will see this as their chance to get a victory, and that they will win 2-1. |

Well played sir!
Ireland/Croatia - two sides with a lot of experienced players. I agree that Croatia are not
the formidable side they once were but they are still World ranked No.8 by FIFA, so i think
they should just be good enough to see off The Irish. Another close game with Croatia winning 2-1. |

Croatia need to sort themselves out, allowing a team with Keith Andrews in it to get the better of them.

Well, I got Croatia and Ireland all wrong. There was never really any doubt about the outcome of that match...
Next is... England vs. France! A classic "derby", and it should be a very close match as I see it. Neither team didn't leave too much of an impression in neither 2008 or 2010, and they usually play entertaining games against each other. My bid here is a draw, 2-2, allthough I do see it likely for either team to get a narrow win. It's going to be a good one, methinks. |

Croatia played well last night, their game with Italy now becomes very important.
If Croatia win they will be through to the next stage and will make it very
difficult for the Italians to progress. The Irish were very poor and will be lucky to
get any points in this group.
As for today, I think England would be happy with a draw. The French team bares
very little resemblence to the shambolic team that self-imploded at the last world cup.
Ukraine/Sweden - another close encounter which I think will end in a draw. |

^^^ Ukraine has an advantage playing at home. But their side has become somewhat aged, and I don't think they have the qualities they used to. Sweden is a quite good team, a couple of very good individuals along with a bunch of teamplayes that know each other inside out, so I think Sweden will win - if I have to guess on the score, it will be.... 2-0 to Sweden. I have faith in our archenemies. |

OK, England start their Euro 2012 campaign soon. These things are all about psychology.
Right...
No one gives us a chance so it's all been key, which means we might have a chance of going all the way.
Oops, now I've fallen into the trap of over hyping our chances which means it's going to be same old story of missed opportunities and an early exit.
So we've got no chance.
Which means there's no pressure. Hmm... we could just pull it off this time.
ENGLAND! ENGLAND!
Oh lordy, I've done again. With this bunch of no hopers. What am I thinking? There's no way.
Wait a minute. That means...
Crap... When's Wimbledon?

^^^ Yeah, particularly because you didn't do bad. Ukraine was much better than I'd anticipated, though, and Schevchenko didn't look like a 35 year old yesterday night. And Sweden didn't create enough open chances, IMO, allthough they were very dangerous on the ones they did made. Too bad, Sweden, go beat England and the Froggies next.
As for England and the Froggies... you guys could have given us a better match than that! Granted, it was almost a decent match in 1st half, but 2nd half was a bore. To me, it wasn't the intense classic game it usually is when those two nations clashes. Noone deserved a win, so I guess a draw is justice.
Tonight, it's going to be one draw and one win. The Czechs have something to prove, but from what I saw in the 1st round, I don't think they can beat a Greek team that plays a good offense and fights heartily. 1-1.
Russia-Poland... another classic. Like an Eastern version of Holland-Germany, the Poles hates the Russians, and are likely to fight their butts of to beat them. However, I think the current Russian team is too big a mouthful for Poland, and that our south-eastern neighbours will lose 1-0. |

Ukraine were better than i thought they'd be. Will be interesting to see if Schevchenko, at 35,
can maintain his form or will having to play 3 games in 8 days catch up with him.
First half of England/France was entertaining but second half was a bit of a let down.
It looked like both had settled for the draw and were scared of losing.
As for today, Czech Rep and Greece to draw and Russia to comfortably beat Poland. |

Was pleasantly surprised by England. Not as inept as I was expecting.
Sweden don't seem to handle crosses well so get Carroll in the team and get the balls whipped in. |
