i took pictures of the last supermoon using a bizarre concoction of my digital camera and some binoculars, worked quite well

That explains what I saw in March. Walking home from work, I looked up the street and all I could see on the horizon was a massive glowing moon. It looked absolutely beautiful, stunning. There wasn't a cloud in the sky to block it, it just felt like I was walking towards the moon. I felt like stopping people and asking if they could see it too. Laughing

A wonderful experience.

Fingers crossed it doesn't cause any problems though!

the earthquakes and so is is pretty much a myth from what i understand about it, same as planetary allignments and so on.

The extra gravity is negligible to say the least, and considering there are hundreds on earthquakes every day any time there has been one its likely to be a coincidence. Just enjoy the nice big moon Smile

^^^ That is what the local news said also.

Although when I was in the medical community more babies were born during full moons (at that hospital) (coincidence I suppose) and there was more shootings/stabbings coming into the ER. The local police in that region substantiated that fact.

Again no hard evidence, but there maybe a factor who really knows.

^^^ I only know from what the police in that area told me from their stats. It might very well be coincidence.

Many of the locals where I live now plant by the moon signs and use the Farmers Almanac regularly. It seems to work. And I am now going off to pick up my share of veggies from our local CSA. The first crops of the year!! Yay!

It's been too cloudy for weeks in the south east UK for any stargazing.

I have one of these with added goto computer:

6" Newtonian.

I didnt take any pics of this supermoon coz camera batteries were dead Evil or Very Mad

My husband and I climbed a hill and saw the sunset and then the moonrise shortly after. Partway up we saw 2 deer. A few minutes later there was a coyote on the trail, about 20 feet away. We stood and watched it for about 10 minutes, and when we started walking again, it walked ahead for quite a while before disappearing into the bush.

Put June 5 or 6 on your calender for the transit of Venus. If you miss, it the next one is happening in December 2117.
