Gay scammer? Is this common?

Was just going through my baiter box, and a love lad wrote this:

I asked him if he was a guy or girl, since scammers don't seem very accurate when it comes to gender-specific names.

He sent me pics - I then told him I was a guy... did that matter?

He said:

My last bait petered out so my baiting schedule is open... anybody ever done a "gay" bait ? (LOL - no pun intended)

While there are some scammers who will not play a homosexual due to the extreme bias against homosexuality in Western African countries, there are plenty who won't hesitate. Whether a dating site focuses on "straight" dating, "plus size" dating, gay or lesbian, specific religions, people with disabilities, or soldiers, scammers will target it and adapt their characters to fit.
There are many romance scammers who will not hesitate to play any role necessary--whether it is a gay or lesbian lover, an American soldier, or even a parent of a disabled child is all the same to the scammer.

We have had baiters run gay/lesbian baits. The tactics are basically the same, straight or gay.

I got a gay lad on one of my 4ppl accounts and replied to him, but the idiot just kept resending his original message.

Well, I'll probably give it a go, but I think I need to develop a new character for this one... maybe time for a run to Ambercrombie & Fitch to pick him up a new outfit as well... Razz

My lesbian baits that started like yours usually turned to refugee baits. I have never ad one reply to me like yours did though. I tell them I am a female and they come right back with scripts.

I have 2 that I tried to steer that way but both are now refugee baits in early stages. My firsts baits so may ask for help in stringing them along.

I've been working this lad too, but this morning I got mailer damon. Did the others baiting him get this same message? So sad! We had such a beautiful relationship! Laughing
