I've got my first Safari! I have a scammer coming to pick up his cut from another scammer. They will be travelling from Lagos to Abuja!

I am excited to hear their voicemail/ read their email after the journey.

I'm not a safari baiter as of yet but I think you need proof positive to pith on a helmet. You still need to wait for more experienced to respond here but you should IP tag your pet now.

You will need verification that the lad is travelling. I assume that you've already established him being located in Lagos, so you just need to verify when he's in Abuja.

Congrats on getting him to move, regardless if it's a verified safari or not Smile

The distance would count as a safari. You just need to be able to prove it with an IP change or some other proof besides the lad just telling you he traveled. It is also very hard to get lads to meet. It's also hard to prove safaris in the same country as IP changes are really the only proof if they travel to another country a phone number change can prove it.

If you have a picture of him already you can make him take a picture next to a landmark in Abuja as a security pic and that would be proof.

He's going to call me from the Hotel Lobby of the Hilton there when he arrives, hopefully the number may be traced to there.

Internal country Safaris are notoriously difficult to prove. Change of IP doesn’t always happen. Some cities receive web access via a satellite. The best way to prove it is the landline code. Unless he is a Guest, it is possible but I reckon unlikely that the Hilton reception will let him call you and if so, that the number is not withheld. If you have a FleXtel no, you receive an e.mail with the number of each caller. If the no is withheld, you still get all of it except the last 3 digits. This would prove the safari. I don't know how else you will do it.

PS: Don’t forget that you should demonstrate that the Lad is in Lagos and that it is him that travels. Only way I can think of is to speak with him at either end & record the calls. That’s what I tend to do. Good Luck! Thumbs up

ask for a picture of both lads together. if he travelled, he wants to proof it to you (else there is no money)

What have you got on origin? Take the baby steps and get yourself there. A call from the hotel proves nothing. He could have a friend there. Make him email you if you can track him.

I think he will be travelling by way of Bus, perhaps I could get him to take a picture of his bus ticket.

a call from the hotel lobby proves a safari, if you recognize the voice. he always can have a friend everywhere. but this friend must have the same voice and the same knowledge. else he can't answer anymore, if you ask a specific question.

still, a picture of both proves a journey, maybe it's possible that they have a phone with gps. then you might have a gps position in the exifs.
