Have been baiting this lad for quite some time and have done some talks over the phone so he plans on me going to Ghana to take a look at their operation. I looked up local hotels and gave him some info of whereI will be staying. He seems persistent on two things: Him picking me up, and bringing a digital camera.

From stories I have heard this may indicate a possible abduction. Or maybe I just always think the worse. Am hoping for a safari though I do not know if the distance will be 200 miles. The last time I got this far the lad went quiet on me...

heh, sounds good. I'm trying keep him on the line for a while until I book the trip. He is one of those very anxious lads that emails every day, and he always sends it twice. I would be happy to have them meet and start a little feud though Very Happy

Best of luck on the safari. The meet/hotel booking can be problematical. If you book your own hotel he'll ask for its name and probably check the booking. If you let him arrange it he might want some upfront money for the deposit. Usually find its best to let him book the hotel and promise the money when you arrive.

One possibility to get around a hotel booking is tell your lad you are sataying in a corporate (serviced) apartment. Many business travelers do this. Tell him you booked it thru an agency in the US or UK or whereever you say you're from. Do some google searches and find a legit address for an apartment building in the Accra area. Then you give them an address but they will have no clue who to call to verify the booking.

Interesting idea about the corporate apartment. I may have to try that. I need to book soon as they were expecting an update soon. If anyone else baiting a gold lad wants to join forces then just let me know.

I recommend Safari Hotel Accra. There is also a webcam there for you to see your Lad live on camera.
