Grandcat is the feline version of a human grandchild unless I'm much mistaken.

She showed up after being tossed out on the coldest day of the year by someone who just moved in the building. She was such a small kitten. That was 3 years ago and a lot of shuffling to keep her a secret!

Kitt inspects every piece of jewelry I make for a no kill shelter's auctions.

Love all the cat pictures here! And Mom uses the word Grandcat too.

My late cat Dover (gray cat pic posted earlier) was for many years a "secret" cat. He had been adopted from the Humane Shelter. He was a Maine Coon cat, but no one adopted him because he had only 3 legs. He was a devoted and faithful pet until his illness.

Our latest cat would be a great secret cat. I've only heard it vocalize once and that was when someone closed a door on its tail. Embarassed

It went missing for half a day and I found it in a closet as quiet as a mouse.

We got the cat at the local pound as their animals all have a sell by date.

I had a neighbor that volunteer directed a no-kill cat rescue. They would run a garage sale once a year and I would join in. I sold a sofa, a freezer, a TV, video games, sofa sleeper, dining set... lots of garage sale stuff off my front lawn and told the buyers to set a price that they thought fair as it would be donated to the cat rescue. I hate negotiating but I had no problems telling people that their offer was not a fair price and never lost a buyer.

My cat Morley (the white and orange one posted earlier) just walked in the cat door with a small lizard in his mouth. Yes, it is alive and he is playing with it.

Well, at least it is not a snake he brought in!

@Morgain Le Fay Kitt is a cousin of your Dover she's mostly Norwegian Forest cat. Aren't those toe tuffs amazing!
@Connie L. Gus So good to hear you helped out. Ahh poor kitty tail! It happens sometimes.
Mine twines around my legs when I'm walking which every once in awhile results in a stepped on toe. Good thing I never wear shoes inside.

I will get in on this. We have 2 "pointy-eared daughters".

Born here in the house and we midwifed them, took off the sacs and cleaned,
more than their own mom. So WE are definitely their parents.

They also do a few "dog tricks", roll over, sit up, etc etc
I call them "puppy-cats". Oh yeah, and walk at heel. Snap your fingers,
jump in the chair.

I will rustle up some pics and post them. Promise.

^My husband and I call Tee our "dog-cat". He rolls around on his back when he wants attention and he brings us his toys when he wants to play.
