I have a couple of scammers on the go at the moment. I have a free voicemail set up via K7, but whilst I have led/pushed all of them at various stages to call me (and leave a MSG if necessary) none of the buggers have yet.

They all claim to have tried of course, but it's very annoying.....just want the first phonecall leaving a MSG for me!!

They can't be that worried surely as all obv have false names....or have I just found the tight gits

In my experience lads rarely leave voicemails. Lazy I guess. K7 is a good number for when they insist they must call you. Not your fault they always call when you aren't home Laughing

If you're really wanting to take calls from lads, I'd recommend either a prepaid cell or a skype-in number. Both of these options are somewhat pricey but worth it if you like having lads call you IMHO.

Tell the lad that the Western Union manager told you to never write down the transfer number. The lad will have to call you for the number.

You can make the lad believe he might be dolla-chopped, seems to make them more chatty. Just create a fake lad account and email the scammer with something like "guy we know you email <insert victim's name>. we want cut ok". Email the scammer a day or so later from your victim's account and say "<fake lad name> has been contacting me about our transaction. Is he your partner?" or something similar. This plants the seed of doubt and you can now insist on stupid security measures like leaving a voicemail with some password ("She sells sea shells on the sea shore" might work well) followed by a "safe" email address to contact.

Go take a look at voxox. You can get a free virtual number for USA or Canada (not sure if they offer any other countries), and it has voice mail and a personal assistant set up as well... it's got so many great options, you can also forward it to any number you want. I have it forwarded to my home VOIP phone (which has a generic voice mail message) and I get about 10-20 messages a day and usually answer about 3-5 calls when I get home from work, from lads. They seem reluctant to leave a voice-mail when I have the "personal assistant" turned on though; maybe because they have to press "1" to leave a message.

You can also send and receive text messages on there, and you can also have your number show up as any number you please, which could work well during a bait, if you claim you are in West African country. The only drawback of course, they wouldn't be able to call you back on that number. Of course, like Skype you would need to buy credit to make calls or send texts but when I signed up they gave me a little bit of credit to start with.

just be patient, at some point your lad will call you, just wait a little bit. I would not pressure them to call you but rather tell them that you are not very easy to reach by phone. Then they will want to check out whether your number is valid...that was at least my experience...

After a dolla chop, my lad calls often trying to get me on the phone. I got a couple short messages saying "call me" even when I told him his number is not in my long distance phone plan.

My lad has 2 phones. One shows his number. the other shows "Unknown Caller". He doesn't ever leave messages from the other phone. He just hammers my bait number to see if I pick up.

A free SIP account with a free DID number + a free soft phone will provide a free phone lads can call to talk to you.

I use ippi.fr for the SIP account, IPKall for the free DID number, and Twinkle for a softphone. I upgraded Twinkle to a hardware solution. I use a Linksys PAP2T-NA.

If you add Google Voice to the above, you can also call all of the US and Canada free except toll numbers such as some conference call numbers.
