"Reflect" is a bit of real but old fashioned banking terminology the lad has picked up but doesn't know how to use properly.
It just means "appear", as in "the deposit will reflect in your account balance in three days time".
I believe it comes from the days of paper ledgers when the debit on the bank's side of the ledger would be "reflected" in a credit on the customer's side as these would appear on opposite pages of the ledger and "backwards"; like the reflection in a mirror.
Lads love to use these kinds of real but complex sounding banking terms ("demurrage" is another of their favourites) but rarely know what they mean. |

the accounts depart in my business still use such terminology, but my financial controller is from the stone age. I am going to ask him if we should consider using a desalination bank to ensure we do not have high levels of sodium in our accounts. |
