on a rental scam. If you have 'cashed their cheque' and now for whatever reason they cannot move into the property and want their money refunded, to send them an itemized breakdown of all the costs incurred and refund them some really small amount like $1.20.

Refund? No, don't do that. But a bill for $1.20 for costs beyond what their "check covered" would be a fun idea.

Do you mean to actually send them the money? Sending any money to a scammer makes you a victim, not a baiter. On the other hand, pretending to send a lad money but it never gets to the lad for one reason or another is what baiting is all about. Wink

Yeah. I wasn't sure of how it would be perceived. I was just think how hacked off they would be to go to WU to get all their lovely money only to be handed a pittance.

I thought much the same, actually. The catch is that they can check WU payments online, and when withdrawing the money they need to know how much the payment is supposed to be. So unfortunately they'd know you were messing with them.

One equally hilarious idea I've seen suggested before is to tell them you are sending the money in cash through the post. Then either send an empty envelope, or put a dolla chop message from the G0merboyz in the envelope instead. The effect upon opening the envelope would be much the same.

Some baiters don't like spending any money on lads, but if you were willing to pay for the post, this would lead to all manner of hilarity.

the third way would be with a letter and printed banknotes of the german democratic republic (GDR, DDR). they look real, were real money, and as they expired 20 years ago, it's absolutely legal to print them.

but imagine a lad trying to change this "money" in a bank. Twisted Evil

EDIT: and I think, the term Deutsche Mark, DM still has a quality in ladland.

EDIT2: at least, in europe it's also allowed to reprint EURO-Banknotes, IF they are smaller than 50% or larger than 200% of the original size (for double sided banknotes, single sided banknotes need to be 25% larger or smaller). Imagine laddy holding A4/Letter/legal sized banknotes. he must be very proud... a short time.

Actually I have some old Italian Liras and some Dong from Vietnam somewhere. Lots of zeros on the end and practically worthless.

I personally wouldn't bother sending anything to a lad when there are so many options for torturing him without going to the trouble.
You could ask him for a bank account to transfer it into and then report the account to alan (rinse and repeat).
You could use any of the fake payment modalities (fake moneygram MTCN, really slowly loading WU receipt image that crashes, etc)
You could tell him that you don't have the refund to send him because you spent it on a gambling spree/drugs/gifts for your lover, etc. - they'll usually get angry and threaten to report you to the police, FBI and any other agency they can think of.

MATH NERD ALERT: Would that be N% of the size, or N% of the dimensions? For example 50% of the dimensions would be 25% of the size, and 50% of the size would be about 70.7% of the dimensions, which might still fool someone. Am I being really irritating?
