While the couple this lad exploits (see links) is remarkably fortunate, they also are having their name lent to a scam.

Lottery winners typically find themselves in great demand from relatives, friends (real and imagined), former boy/girlfriends, charities, self-styled financial advisors, beggars, strangers and undoubtedly scam artists. I'm thinking of baiting this guy as a long last classmate who is in dire need of a great sum of money.

Ah. Gmail just bounced it - address does not exist. So either the dude's mis-spelled his "own" name, or the account's been yanked.

The idiot did indeed get his own email addy wrong. I just tried it and put an "s" at the end of "dawe" and it worked.

I like how he says his name is "Benard Paul" yet signs it Dave Dawes.

I know we're baiters (in my case, quite a new one!), but it does defy belief that people are *quite* so easily taken in by such obvious mistakes.

No wonder the Nigerians call their victims "maga" - to some extent, I can't help but agree.

On the other hand, it does make our job easier!

I also corrected the email address and sent it off again - no bounce yet, so I'll just await the lad's response Smile
