Drive-by wheelie bin photography is all well and good but to make it really authentic, you need to make a handbrake turn just as you pull up to take the snap.
Otherwise, you just look like you're kerb crawling.

Homeless bins are known to live in parks, theres one that lives near here, on waste ground, by some garages, I'll try & get a picture.

Has anyone seen bins living in the wild, which have gone back to nature?

I tried to snap a picture of a rare round wheelie bin. Pic didn't come out. I came back to the spot 5 minutes later to try again, it was gone.

Under it's own power or by human hands, I will never know!! Sad

Well Bart, I'm disappointed in you.
There's this poor bin, all alone in the snow and unprotected, no doubt freezing its wheels off. Its owner (and I use the term in it's loosest sense) clearly doesn't care - I mean he hasn't even bothered to align the bin neatly, just dumped it on the grass verge.
Clearly this is a bin crying out for some love and attention, and what do you do?
Take a bloody picture as you pass by in your (no doubt) well heated car.

Was it beyond you to have stopped for just a moment to straighten the bin up?
Perhaps place a discarded Twinkie wrapper or even an old newspaper into the bin?
Just to make it feel loved.

You should be ashamed.

This thread is proof that there still are real heroes in the world. First of all klaasvaak for starting this wheelie bin thread, and second the brave man who saved that poor wheelie bin from the sea.

N.O.R.A. Thanks for posting that story! It's clear that the Brits are more passionate about their wheelie bins than Americans. I'm just glad a rescue mission was launched in time to save the bin from it's fateful dimise. Drowning half full of crap is a horrible way to go.

You my friend don't know the real story. This is one of several feral wheelie bins that roam around the city. Their ancestors were given as babies to children around the Easter holidays by irresponsible parents. After a while the children got bored with them and flushed them down the toilet, where they grew up and bred by the hundreds. Over the years they would only leave the sewers at night, feeding on cats and the occasional homeless person.

Long story short, the city took actions into their own hands to control the population of the feral bins. Right now their numbers are highly regulated and are compensated for their actions by given stray cats (and children) for supper during the holidays. They generally can take care of themselves, usually found along the riverside.
