Simple solution if you don't speak or read any other languages: Go to an article written in one of the other languages and have a machine translator change it to English for you. Smile

But I appreciate that Wikipedia is trying to send a message with this.

Disable Javascript or use NoScript or Tamper Data with Firefox to prevent it loading the blackout page.

Unfortunately, the Wiki's of a lot of minor language areas suck. Simply because of numbers - there are fewer people with knowledge to maintain and update the articles, and that leaves more room for morons. Sad

I've simply been googling what I wanted to read on Wikipedia ... and then reading the cached version.

I'm so old and insular that I didn't even know what the blackout was about.....

I didn't realise how often I use Wikipedia until today. I found the simplest way round the blackout was hit the cancel button before the page finishes loading. I'm sure I would support the cause - if I could be bothered to read what it's all about.

I support the blackout. But I'm also using the Escape key to look stuff up on the sly. I'm a very poor activist.

I'm either a late adopter or already old by your standards. I was just out of high school when I first got on the interwebs. I think a chat room. It was not until a few years into college before using it frequently.
