I was really fired up after reading that page. I didn't realize that this would be able to kill sites also! THANK YOU ADDA! That will interfere with this BS!

Ugh. Reading through that page was upsetting, but thanks for sharing.

I hate hearing about people being cruel to animals. The fact that this gal is trying to profit from them as well just adds to the disturbing nature of the situation. Sad

I really wonder how many other people she victimized with lies and/or animals which were suffering as a result of her neglect.

The thing I find ironic about what she is doing is that I imagine she's got to spending more money to keep those pets alive and at least somewhat suitable for people to see, than she would be if she hadn't gotten any of them in the first place.

Hopefully it won't be long before law enforcement gets involved and she's the one being kept in a cage for a while.

I got a post on my RL facebook page today, looks like another scam. The pic of the wounded puppy was gutwrentching, I have no doubt that it's real, but I'm working to trace where it came from. Will post in FB forum if/when I find details.

Ugh. I hate people who run scams. I hate people who abuse animals. People who run scams while abusing animals? Well, I'm sure I could find the words but they probably shouldn't be repeated here.

It was somewhat uplifting to see that video of Pippin at the end, happily running and playing the way a dog should be.

Hello you wonderful scam-crushing people. My fiance and I are responsible for animalrescuescam.info and are Pippin's guardians.

We put up that site hoping a few friends would share it on facebook and that we could get some official action taken against this stupid, twisted woman.

23,000 hits and 48hours later, we are overwhelmed with the support we are receiving from all corners of the internet. (all non-shady persons love animals and hate scammers)

It appears that you all have a particular kind of expertise and interest that the animal rescues and non-profits we are working with don't have, so we're thankful that you are as outraged and disgusted as we are.

We only found this forum by looking at the referral links coming to the website and then here we learned that her dogmatchmaker site has been removed!! Thank you for that info. (I don't know if she took it down or someone "helped" her take it down Wink

, but I don't need to know)

We'll be happy to answer any questions if you have them, and if anyone comes across more information, we will gladly post it in an update so it can be part of our push for legal action.

Good to hear from you tincircus. Glad we can help. My dogs are my kids and I love them to death. I would love to meet the kind of sicko that could do such mean things to animals... It's all a shame really.

@Bearseason - Definitely! The more the merrier. Imagine Pets has a contact form. That is what I used. All I said was that it was a good chance that it was a fraudulent shelter and that there is a website that has a lot to say about them. I then provided the link.

I thought I posted it last night but I guess I didn't. I did on Reddit. Here is the other shelter/kennel she is running in addition to the first one I posted.

@adda717 - Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, we don't have anything concrete to report on that front at the moment, but there is positive momentum. We have been contacted by PETA, SPCA and the Humane Society. PETA (Are they the People for the Eating of Tasty Animals, is that a different group?) is gathering information for their own investigation, but we can't say yet where any of it will go, if anywhere at all. They seem to be evaluating from a distance.

We have contacted the Rappahannock County Sheriff's Department and it has been recommended that we also inform the IRS and Dept. of Consumer Affairs about her donation-gathering. We have been contacted by hundreds of good people with advice and offers of help. Experts, professionals and and just generally caring humans. Another promising lead is that we were contacted by a reporter from the Rappahannock News, who was very eager to write this story. We had a phone interview today, and he's already working on the article.

Her sites are coming down (by whatever means) and people are helping to watch craigslist posts until she fully gives up the game. We are baiting any posts we find of her offering animals for adoption (please do the same, I believe that may be among your specialties) and unless she's more mentally deficient than we thought, she'll know not to respond to any of them, ever. God, I hope she does though. The plan for now is to make sure enough bases are covered to keep her from touching another animal and keep her revenue stream dry while we until we find out what the sheriff's department plans to do (and if we want to take civil action). If you do help bait her on CraigsList, look for ads people listing locations within a hundred miles of Woodville, VA., either trying to place an animal or, even worse, looking to "adopt" an animal (poor grammar and spelling is also another clue).

BearSeason contacted us earlier today (thanks much!) hungry for some good targets and we sent over some PetFinder listings that Ashley has not yet taken down.

Perhaps the best thing is for people to contact her to remind her that she's being watched and to stay the hell off PetFinder, CraigsList, etc. The ultimate goal is to make her feel like it's never safe to do business on these sites again. But do whatever you think is best... you guys are the experts!

In the last 24 hours we have several tips from reliable sources about another animal rescue con-artist in Spotsylvania, VA (same general area as Ashley) doing the same thing named Wendy Lackey. We have not yet had much time to do significant research on her, but she seems to be similarly spread out all over the web.

Wendy (www.imagine-pets.com/shelters/loyal-canines-rescue/) already has at least one conviction, though I'm not sure exactly what the charge is. We got a tip from a reliable source that she keeps dogs in nasty cages and feeds them just enough to keep them alive. She too, places ignorant-sounding CraigsList ads. If that creature comes anywhere near me and my two boys (1 is a staffie/husky cross and the other is a husky/staffie/blue heeler cross) she would die a particularly slow and painful death. Even though my two boys have the sweetest natures with people that they love, heaven help anyone who gets on the wrong side of them.

Keep up the good work TinCircus. There should be more people like yourself who help abandoned/lost/injured etc animals.

As an animal lover, and independent cat rescuer, this site sickens me. Monsters like this cast the rest of us with a shadow of suspicion and ruin the work that we do.

P.S. Just to be clear. I have never once asked for money for what I do, though I have gratefully accepted gifts from those who offer.

good luck with some of the online listing sites.

Unfortunately, there are way too many people doing exactly what this woman is doing. My large rescue network in my local area is aware of a few. One of those "groups" has been on PF for years, despite a huge number of complaints and reports by other rescues, shelters, adopters, and even previous owners who saw the animals they gave away being resold with a fake abuse story.

Some of the major animal sites are like certain dating sites--they are perfectly aware that they have fakes on their site, but removing them would reduce their listings and traffic--and they are more interested in being able to claim more animals and traffic because it gives them more ad revenue.

A person named Wendy Lackey contacted me in regards to my Craigslist ad for a dog saying that she is Furry Friends Rescue in Louisa? I saw her name mentioned earlier on this thread. She gave me a Louisa address and not a spotsylvania one but I'm going to steer clear. Glad I did some research. Such a shame there's people out there casting doubt on supposedly pro animal organizations!
