This came to my (RL) animal shelter main email address--probably another scammer who got hold of an animal organization list. For obvious reasons I didn't want to bury it in surplus...

^^^ The lads want to buy items fo high value with stolen credit cards and for some lad reason their shipping company cannot accept credit cards. The lad will pay for the items and wants you to also process the shipping charges and then send the shipping company their payment via Western Union.

OK, so it's a typical cc overpayment scam. Why the goats?

These lads typically target a certain industry to make their scam less generic. In this case the lad must have come across a seller of goat shelters on the Internet then he searched goat+animal+shelters or similar looking for more companies to send his format to. He does not understand what an Animal Shelter is and that is how Dorothy ended up with it.

Looks like he is interested in 6 goatways to heaven! I'm guessing that will take more than one CC to pay for Smile

And yes, as Bravo said, this email was targeted at an animal shelter address. He probably bought or stole an animal shelter address list for mass-mailing. Obviously he interprets animal shelter to mean a company that sells shelters for animals.

Good news , my company here manifactures various kinds of goat and sheep shelters , for the local market because of the climate here and we also export them to developing countries and try to get big refunds from the EU developing 3rd world contry funds.
This is how it works , he orders maybe 100 and we send him none but make fake shipping papers for 100 and we bill him for 100, then he can apply for a return from the EU funds for almost the total value of his order, just think about all the forms and paperwork needed to do this, offcourse we will also need to get our VAT back and we need more paperwork from him to get it.
Interested ?
I have more good ideas for this one, let me know.

I actually helped a client sending application for the export of watercleaning systems to Zimbabwe a few years ago , over 300 pages, and they had to be send through the developing aid department of foreign affairs here, and ..... they are in dutch....

^^By all means give it a shot but don't get your hopes up too high. These scammers are unfortunately pretty successful. They are also lads and lazy. We mainly bait them to get stolen credit cards from them that we can report as fraudulent. The lad pays for these so it does not make him happy Smile

Btw just saying for safety sake make sure nothing you send him ties back to your real life details.

I knowabout making them give up the CC`s but they will need a lot of then , you see the shipping needs to be paid and also the VAT , and we dont ship until we have the EU forms back from them completely and correctly filled in because otherwise the EU wont give THEM the money back, so the story is we send them a bill for the full shipment , they can pay by CC`s and when they send us back the completed forms they get the money back from the EU and we get the VAT back , everybidy profits.
Say we are talking about a 100k order that should take a lot of CC`s and a really big carrot dangling in front of them, using stolen CC`s to get 100k real money back and maybe even get some goat shelters for free.
Well worth the time to fill in 300 page`s of EU form, don``t you think.
Offcourse there are endless possibilities to stall them , something wrong with the form`s, with the CC`s , with the shipping , you name it.

The lad just coughed up two cc over the phone. For some reason he would not email the information and wanted the transaction completed while we were on the phone.

Interesting in the first email he claimed to be in Sweden and today on the phone he claim to be in Ohio. The call appears to originate in Ohio but is probably a Magic jack number.

I don't think he will be calling back as he was familiar with online transaction and my confirmation number was not in the correct format.
