I can't believe I went outside in the freezing cold, on Christmas day yet, to take a picture of my god damn garbage bin rollers to please some wacko, tulip-munching, wooden shoe wearing loon in Dutchie Land. Shocked

Note the new fence just built in the fall. You can't see for the snow, but the top rails are covered by shards of broken glass and a 220 volt bare wire that I use to maim and kill föking squirrels - filthy vermin.

And finally, a wee bit of trivia. In our city it is illegal to put your garbage out by the curb before 6 PM, the day before garbage collection. The morons who run the city actually hired on new inspectors just for this. Here is a news story:

Because the bins are different colours silly - ya can't mix and match them. I mean I do that with my socks but then again I go by thickness and not colour when selecting socks.

Plus the green one is now frozen to the patio and I don't give a damn how important KV thinks he is - I will not freeze my ass off chipping the wheels out of ice to take a damn picture - check back with me in the spring.

For security reasons, mine has our house number make sure we get them back Most likely a lot of members not only have the number but the road name as well and they will certainly not post pictures of them.

Maybe the two different colored bins are taking a "Time out" because they don't get along.

Although mine spends little time on the curb, it is used to haul the garbage over the curb to the dumpster.

blue bin week, this week, only its got to go out a day later on account of Christmas. No point in putting the brown bin out, there's been no gardening taking place due to the wet weather.

Alas, I do not have a wheelie bin. :sniff: But perhaps news that I own a "wheelie cool" (the proper name) will offer some modicum of redemption to my reputation? Besides, I'd much rather wheel about cold adult beverages than trash. Razz

Camera is AWOL at the moment (new roommates moving in and things are in general disarray), so perhaps this representation will suffice.

Finally got mine to play, typically being divas they demanded individual photos and refused to do a group shot. (Translation: I couldn't be arsed to hump them about to get a group photo). Apologies for the quality, was using the camera on my old mobile. House number edited out.

First up, Bluebell. She handles the household recyclables - glass, cardboard, metals, paper, she loves them all:

Now, here is Punky. This fella's a rough tough rubbish machine. He'll take anything the others can't manage. Don't let the hearts and flowers fool you - this guy means business:

Lastly, here's Herbie. He deals with the garden waste. He's had some downtime recently due to the rain, but will be nicely rested for duty come the spring:

Honourable mention should also be made of Old Bluey, shown in the pic above. A few years ago the council replaced the recycling lorries, and issued new bins as the old ones didn't fit the lifting mechanism. After years of hard and faithful service, Old Bluey was out of a job. But rather than return to the depot to be melted down for use elsewhere, he decided to remain and offer guidance to his replacements. Over the years they became adept at their roles and no longer required supervision, so again he chose a new path. He laid down, opened his lid, and now rests among his friends, offering safety and cover to any passing wildlife in need of shelter. Truly if a bin deserved a medal, it would be Old Bluey.

Cougar, although I share the sentiment that those are some damn fine wheelie bins, I can't help but be a little disappointed that you've left the blue one lying there on it's side.

Wheelie bins should always be treated with respect. They should be proud and upstanding.
If Old Bluey has finally served his purpose and you have no need of him, then you should find a good home for him. I'm sure some old lady would take him in and look after him.

slightly is correct, you should bring him to a home for old bins. The people there know exactly how to take care of him, so he can spent whatever years he has left happily
