@SOOI there is no need to have bulge envy. It's ok to believe size does not matter if that makes you feel better.

@Klaassvak yes the blue one is named Pancho and the grey one is named Lefty. They have only been a part of my life for about three years now but feels like they have been in the family for years.

- The one on the left is a Schafer original and at the party we held in honour of its arrival 18 years ago, it was used as an al fresco bath Very Happy

The green lidded one is for garden waste - all those wearing wheelie bin x-ray vision specs, I know the mushy sludge stuff at the bottom needs cleaning out! Razz

I don't know if this I appropriate but I wanted to post a picture of my wheelie bin picker upper as he drove away after servicing Panch and Left this morning. Sorry the picture is not that clear and so far away it's hard to capture the wheelie bin picker upper in the wild.

Not only do I not have a working camera again, but no wheelie bins. We have to take our trash to the communal bin (without wheels) I might have go to Lowe's soon just to get one for decoration.

As Bart mentioned, there are lost of people that doesn't have a wheelie bin and are therefore left out. I live in an apartment complex and my garbage goes in to a hole in the wall. I do know that there is a wheelie bin below the slide on the bottom floor but i cannot access it and thus cannot take a photo of it.

But i do have a note about the size of the bins. The Swedish standard sized bin is way smaller than the European one, not to mention the American one. I will see if i can take a photo of my in-laws bin while there during Christmas, it is green and very slim.

To one which has an accessible wheelie bin. I'd advise you to get onto the estate agent immediately.

But remember - A wheelie bin is for life. Not just for Christmas.

What wax do you folks use to keep your bins the shineyest?

I don't use wax as I find that it dulls the shine and attracts wasps and tramps.

I just use a bit of spit and elbow grease to polish the lid.
I give the main body a good going over with the power washer every couple of months.

But I digress - wheelie bin hygiene and maintenance is for another thread.

Since bravo decided to take a picture of his trash collection truck leaving his expensive subdivision, perhaps we could have another thread where we actually have pictures of the garbage men. I will have to wait until next Thursday for that. I will make sure that the one smiles brightly so you can see his nice gold front tooth. It is, after all, the least my garbage men can do after receiving nice Christmas gift certificates! Laughing

Perhaps a little competition with pics of the various garbage men might result in a nice Premium Membership or extension there of! And the picture should include your wheelie trash bin Laughing

I will cover the membership thingy.

Sorry but no.
Garbage men are considered ITPs and are therefore off-limits.

It's for their own safety. We don't want anyone who hasn't had their wheelie bin emptied on time (ie: Klaasvaak) targetting innocent garbage men in some sort of crazy garbage related vendetta.

Slightly is right it is a common mistake to try and polish your wheelie bin. This destroys the natural patina that develops over the years that gives them their distinction. Sure I too have fond memories of the beautiful factory finish mine had when they were first delivered but their war wounds are what build character. Left (short for Lefty) has been through two children worth of diapers. You don’t want to polish those memories away. Ponch (short for Poncho) has been through countless football games, parties and bad work days and always holds the empty beer bottles with pride. Sure he smells like a salon girl but I still love him and would never polish away his hoppy musk.

Ok sorry I'm very passionate about wheelie bins and now back ontopic. Please there must be more proud wheelie bin owners here please post them up!

As promised, my trash bin (can) being dumped. Trash man (sanitation tech) gave me a very suspicious look. Shocked
