I received an E-mail from the BBB (Supposedly). Is it a scam or a virus? It has links in it so I'm thinking it'll be the latter but not sure how to tell.

I also might need a step by step walk through for obtaining the header info. I'm sure there has to be one somewhere.

Thanks,

Al.

If it is the one that has previously been posted on ScamWarners, then it is likely that the link contains a virus, so I wouldn't click on it if I were you.

I haven't lived in the states for a very very long time, but I think if the BBB or IRS are going to be contacting you it isn't going to be by email but good old fashioned post. Something official and frightening.

I've gotten a number of IRS emails at work lately (and I work in France so that's weird to begin with) and I forwarded them to our IT group. They said delete immediately then make sure they were even deleted from the deleted box. It's phishing most likely.

Yeah, it references a complaint number. I haven't ever filed one. Therefore by brilliant deductive reasoning I know it's something to beware of.

They had a story on the local news this morning. They're asking it be deleted. I never figured how to get the header info out of it. It's in my companies junk box in Outlook. I was sent a step-by step but it didn't match up with my version of outlook. Hopefully someone else received this that isn't a computer dummy like me.
