I guess that any e.mails would be about the recently deceased Dear Leader Kim Jong Il, rather than his long-dead father the Great Leader Kim Il Sung  That said, the population of DPRK has no internet access, so the e.mail could only be sent by a supposed escapee. |

I just want to say that Internet access is limited and some people in DPRK do use email. If you travel to Pyongyang, your travel agent may say you won't be able to send email but don't believe that. They have their reasons why they say so.
Some North Koreans also commit cyber crimes but it isn't exactly what the lads do.
Please don't ask me to tell more.  Well, I could tell where you can send your email in Pyongyang if you happen to be a hot single male baiter. |

Well, when I was there in 2009, only the highest elite in Pyongyang had such access. We visited the Kim Il Sung University, where students had only an intranet to browse.
One of our 2 'Guides', the attractive daughter of an important Party Member, told us that mobile phones would shortly be permitted, to certain ‘auspicious’ individuals. Whether that meant web access would follow, I don't know.
Those that live outside the segregated city of Pyongyang certainly have no such luxuries. Our Coach Driver had not even heard of Marlboro cigarettes! |

The BBC seem quite confident that there are people in DPRK with internet access.

Anyway, the IP usually refers to a certain country, not DPRK itself. |

Even the BBC has worked out that a North Korean with an Australian IP address is unlikely to have witnessed the Oxford Street stabbing incident in London... |
