I received an E-mail from the BBB (Supposedly). Is it a scam or a virus? It has links in it so I'm thinking it'll be the latter but not sure how to tell.
I also might need a step by step walk through for obtaining the header info. I'm sure there has to be one somewhere.
Thanks,
Al. |

If it is the one that has previously been posted on ScamWarners, then it is likely that the link contains a virus, so I wouldn't click on it if I were you. |

I haven't lived in the states for a very very long time, but I think if the BBB or IRS are going to be contacting you it isn't going to be by email but good old fashioned post. Something official and frightening.
I've gotten a number of IRS emails at work lately (and I work in France so that's weird to begin with) and I forwarded them to our IT group. They said delete immediately then make sure they were even deleted from the deleted box. It's phishing most likely. |

Yeah, it references a complaint number. I haven't ever filed one. Therefore by brilliant deductive reasoning I know it's something to beware of.

They had a story on the local news this morning. They're asking it be deleted. I never figured how to get the header info out of it. It's in my companies junk box in Outlook. I was sent a step-by step but it didn't match up with my version of outlook. Hopefully someone else received this that isn't a computer dummy like me. |
