I have met 7 baiters in the last couple of years. I happened to be traveling, and they were right along my way, except for one who traveled to see me here in the US and we went traveling together, meeting others along our way. All of them I have known for years here, and have done many baits, chats and phone calls with. I consider them all my good friends and I really enjoyed meeting them all after knowing them so long.
I could be traveling again this summer, so look out! I could be be arriving at your door, next! Get the coffee pot going. Razz

Most people I have talked to about baiting think it's funny and that it's great that the lads suffer for what they do, but some can't believe it when I tell them of the pain we inflict on these lads. Some ask if it's dangerous.

My parents know about the baiting and can't wait for the next installment. My workmates quite enjoy the insults and juju death threats, and my wife sort of tolerates it.. I think she's coming round though, she's beginning to see how nasty these guys can be and the sympathy is starting to fade.

Never met any other baiters in real life, they tend to be a secretive lot.

Never met another baiter in the flesh. As far as I know, I am the only baiter in the Buckeye state.

Three other people know I bait. One (my sister) is a lad hugger, the other two like it.

I've told some friends about my baiting hobby and that it's just voluntary work but because they know I'm retired LE and I've mentioned the stuff we get up to they think I'm some sort of salaried ( I wish) undercover 'scam buster' and wind-up specialist.
I have though successfully introduced the word 'tambambling' into the vocabulary of my local pub regulars so it's not all bad.
Never met a fellow baiter yet - we are hard to spot you know.

Me and Bella are shacked up, but have not met any other baiters. We both know about being careful with meeting someone online since that is how we met, though not on this site.

I mentioned about scambaiting to my brother and a few friends. They think it's cool, but they don't bother to do it themselves.

I do want to meet someone who finds scambaiting cruel. I could have a lot of fun with them!! Very Happy

Me and a mod here meet once. It was nice I needed help dragging the body out to the desert and he was a big help.

I've told my friends and family about it. I also found out that this baiting thing runs in the family. Turns out, my aunt likes to mess with lads, as well. nothing complicated. She just pretends to not speak English well and always misunderstands their instructions. Very Happy

She loved reading the Adamu bait.

As a result of my hobby, I have now become the go-to person for everyone I know to cross-check scams. Anytime they get a suspicious e-mail or text (AFF, phishing, anything), they run it by me and ask what I think of it. And I always tell them to delete it.

But no, I've never met a baiter. Besides, my aunt, apparently.

I haven't met another baiter in person not that I'm opposed to the idea. But I have played a fellow baiter's track on my community radio show.

I have a mailing list for my friends who I update on my shenanigans. Though last year, I went from a distinction to a high distinction in my e-business class, 'cos I mentioned to the lecturer I was a Baiter!

Some of my friends think I spent too much time baiting, then I point out the e-business class Smile

I tried to meet up with a baiter once. We were supposed to meet at some kind of safari camp. I traveled for days, but we had logistical problems. The cab would never show up, I had trouble getting through on the phone, hotels lost the reservations and so on. I eventually gave up and went home. I was promised a check to reimburse me for my expenses, even though the problems were usually my fault. I am still waiting on the check.

I live only 15 mins drive from a fellow baiter. We often have a few cokes together.
There is another baiter that we are in constant contact with. Another continent. We hope to meet up and enjoy some beer and tell each other lies in the future.

I can see why baiters rarely meet up. Locations on the avatares are misleading and secretive.

On another forum, quite remote from baiting, we share location info freely.
For that reason I have met several members from that forum.

As regards to telling people about baiting. I do mention it sometimes but don't push it.
There have been people who have heard about it and they have thought it hilarious. I think they joined. I lost contact with them. I would not have any idea who they are now.

I generally share the funniest details of my baits at work, but never full baits or my eater/bait character names. Then again, I sometimes share the full PDF versions on IRC.

I've met about a dozen or so members. We used to arrange get togethers (piss ups) on a fairly regular basis when I signed up. I still meet one or two a few times a year.

Which reminds me. Time for the xmas beer and curry f5! Very Happy

I kept in touch with most the group that were around then, but over the years they've drifted away from Eater so it's a Christmas txt at best these days.

You could always tell baiter meets even if you didn't know anyone when you turned up. They'd be the one's sniggering and giggling, while taking calls from lads or trying to take furtive photos (from a safe distance) of any mugus that were invited to the party.

My friends know about my baiting hobby and wouldn't expect anything less. Wink

An Eater member lives further up our street. I didn't know until I posted a picture of my motorbike on here, and he recognised it as the noisy bugger that keeps passing his house!
