Hence I find the following quote appropriate.

The scene New Zealand hotel reception:

Receptionist, "Go to the lift"

I am thinking, " There's no elevator here, ground floor building"

Receptionist, "Thin go lift again"

"Oh! Thankyou."

Listening to a Language Professor on the subject of Kiwi dialect.
