Hi all,

I just thought I'd take a stab at potentially baiting someone using (I think) a straight forward advance fee fraud. I sent them back an email and I received a reply from them, but I also received this.

"Dear XXX,

Based on information received, I believe you have been asked to contact someone who calls themselves Donald Allen. He claims to represent Facebook.

Please be aware that this person is a scammer. There is no prize fund. The messages your eceived came from a hacked account an not the person named on the account.

"Donald Allen" will apply charges for delivery, administration, etc. and may be substantial.

If you pay these fees, demands for more will follow.

You will never receive any prize, and any fees you pay to "Donald" will be lost forever.
He may also ask you for personal information, which you should not disclose.

What to do:
- Please stop talking to this person immediately.
- Do not tell him that you have been warned about him. If you do, our informants could be placed in grave danger.
- Do not send him money for any reason.
- Do not give him any personal information, especially bank details or email or facebook account details. No legitimate organisation will ever ask you for these.

If you send him personal information he will use them to impersonate you. He will contact your friends and try to scam them.

Please take time to learn more about Advance Fee Fraud. Simply google "419" or "advance fee fraud". Tell your family and friends and help them to protect themselves.

I work as part of scamwarners.co.uk, a volunteer organisation that attempts to limit the harm caused by AFF. We will never ask you for personal information or money.

If you have any questions you think I can answer, please email me.

Best wishes, "

Interesting....

Send that person a message to let them know that you received the warning and let them know you are safe.

a feather in your cap!

Simply reply that you are a baiter from 419 Eater and you know what you are doing.

Ask no questions.

It's legit. Just reply, "I'm a baiter, thanks."

Hi and welcome. I'm part of ScamWarners. The warning letter appears legitimate so please do reply that you are a baiter.
However:

We're actually ScamWarners.com. Could you please forward me the entire warning email to Jillian at ScamWarners.com so I can double check it and let the warner know to revise the domain for future warnings?
