Got this one out of the surplus bin yesterday and it seems he's already a little upset about something.

He'll be bluffing. If he feels that there is any possibility of scamming you, he won't cut you off for long.

Thought that too but a self imposed deadline derived from an opening script seemed interesting to me.

I would say that is a bluff too, I have received others that claim they had been trying to contact me several times, and this was their last email.

Which is more often then not really strange, because I had just created the account and or it hadn't been active for months.

I've still got a bit of a bite on this one, but I think someone else has a better one. I got that same message Friday. He let me slide for over a week in between.

I had this lad that kept on rminding me that there was this german guy that was about to get my deal unless i paid him soon. Third time he mentioned him i told the lad that he might as well let him have the deal as there was some problems on my end.
Guess what, suddenly he cut the german guy off and there was no time limit anymore. Tell your lad you will not get any money until christmas when your rich uncle will give you the usual 30k for your Christmas present. After that you will have all the time in the world and the lad will regulary check in and see how you and your uncle is doing. And perhaps ask if there is any chance your uncle can give you your present a few month in advance.

It's the exact same tactic infomercials use when they say, "This offer is only good for the next 10 minutes!" and then they put the timer in the corner of the screen. But then you see the exact same informercial an hour later and they say the exact same thing. So, apparently, if they're to be taken at they're word, the offer expired after ten minutes, only to be renewed an hour later.

Yes, I've seen a lot of late night infomercials. I've been unemployed for a long time. Give me a break.

Was going to let this thread die since we're all agreeing with each other but he seems to been afflicted with love at first email. I know its just another form of control and pressure but it's kinda wierd since I have sent him a grand total of two emails over four days.

So...is this some trunk box/romance scam hybrid? My guess is that it covers both fields. Romance if it is a woman, and a standard trunk box scam if it's a man. I would have said a man for romance, but I believe that sort of thing is frowned upon in West African culture. Which is where he likely is. Certainly not Iraq.
