Gran Torino. It was ok, but very predictable. I'm a big Eastwood fan, but this wasn't his best effort. |

My neighbour lent me (The Sting) DVD. I think he has a crush on Eileen Brennan!
It turn out to be one of the best con movies I’ve ever seen, Ocean’s Eleven is not even close to that masterpiece. The dvd has some scratches so I missed the ending credits. Paul Newman and Robert Redford were great. However, Robert Shaw stole the show with his phrase (you follow?).

We watched The Road to Perdition last night, a great movie which I had heard of (when it won the Oscar) but never seen before.
Paul Newman and Tom Hanks were both excellent, and the photography was superb. |

Me and the missus watched "Gandhi" last night. Ben Kingsley has never been better before or after that film. What a masterpiece. And Martin Sheen was there too. I haven't seen that film since Jesus walked in shorts so I was thrilled to see it on Sky again. |

Watched Rio - that was great, me and my siblings (6 and 3) enjoyed it a lot.
Also seen the new Rise of the Apes, that was kinda cool as well. Not bad. |

Thor on DVD. and yes, this "old geiser"  has been waiting thirty years or so for the special effects technology to catch up with the graphic artists' conceptions.
Can anyone lend me their copy of "Real Genius"? best college movie I ever saw.
Edit: The Time machine - bought it for less than a pound, it's the 1960's original and still head and shoulders above the remake - good storytelling can win over special effects. |
